The rear bumper and taillights were also redesigned, while the license plate recess was moved on the tailgate. New 15- and 16-inch wheels round off the exterior upgrade.
The interior carries over mostly unchanged design-wise, but Hyundai added a new seven-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as an optional panoramic sunroof. It also features the company’s latest SmartSense active safety and drivers assistance systems, including Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert, and High Beam Assist.

Under the hood, Hyundai dropped the 1.4-liter gasoline engine, and it seems that diesel options are no longer available for now. But both the 1.0-liter and 1.2-liter gas mills continue. The former can be had with either 99 or 118 horsepower, while the latter is available with either 74 or 83 horsepower. Bigger news comes from the transmission department, where there’s a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The i20 also uses and Idle Stop and Go system to reduce Co2 emissions now.
