The purpose for that type of seat is for you to shift your weight according to your terrain. On ruff choppy sections/ obstacles you want to sit back a little to keep the front wheel light. For cornering and accelerating with more control you want your weight in front of the power. The seat is long and flat so you can shift your weight quickly and easily. ( watch motocross a bit you’ll see).

"Are all big supermotos like this?!" There are no other "big supermotos". There is this bike with KTM/Husqvarna/Gasgas decals other than that there are no other "big supermotos". Unless you are starting to call the Hypermotard 950 a supermoto which in my opinion it is not (more of a streetbke/sportbike/nakedbike with supermoto flavor), if we are going to be really knitpicky even the 690/701 bikes are not "real supermotots" but close enough. Now Ducati has their new Hypermotard 698 Mono which seems very close to these 690/701 bikes so it will be really interesting to see how that bike fair to this bike. You should be sitting way up front. It puts your body in the center of the bike. Sitting back on the seat allows dramatic weight transfer. In motocross, it's used to change the weight from balanced to rear and increase the traction through burms, etc. Sitting back will also cause you to wheelie easier. You'd likely have a better experience overall sitting forward on the seat.

@chaseontwowheels Bruh, you can’t just put “73.5 torque at...” KTM measures in Newton-meters, while we in the US measure in pound-feet. 73.5Nm converts to 54.2lb-ft of torque. Otherwise, you’re making a 690cc single sound like it’s making as much torque as the 1050cc triple in the Speed Triple.

People don’t seem to get super motos. You can compare them to a motocross bike and say they heavy. It’s NOT a motocrosser. You also can’t compare them to a liter bike by saying it’s under powered. They are in their own category. And people who ride these don’t have time to look at a fancy TFT, nor do they care. THERE is NO "TACH"! The exhaust is Euro 5 compliant. The exhaust being downflow from the fuel filler is a safety hazard, and having to dismount to fill is a pain; and topping it off requires you to hold it vertically with one hand while pumping with the other. The clutch's internal mechanical linkage is shite; thus the false neutrals. Other than that, it makes me smoke more; like sex, I need to light one up after every ride. FYI; you can wheelie in Mode one. Have had mine for 3 months now. I also have 5 Ducati, and imagine that this engine must be similar in power, if not better than the Supermono.

Great review man! I have a 2018 690 enduro and it’s such a beast of a bike, and it has a big analog tach and gear indicator and it sounds so much better with a yoshimura exhaust, much less like a lawn mover now lol, although 690s always have a little clunk to em

I have recently put my 2 other bikes up for sale after buying a 701 enduro model and converting it to supermoto. Its plenty for my wheelie shenanigans;) :)

its a bike for european mountain roads/city. you need to move arround on that seat, you want to go fast, it just doesnt need a "pretty" spedo, i dont get why all of the US wants sumos just to pop wheelies and to end up riding on a straight line

The 2014 had a nice analogue speedo on it. This is the only downside of the new model coming from a 2014 owner. Would love all the upgrades like cornering abs, traction, quickshifter etc.

Why would you not need a "pretty" spedo for a bike designed for the street? Makes no sense that it is not included.

@@PedoBear1811 wheight, cost and it just tells you the speed, dont need much more on that bike honestly
@PedoBear18114 жыл бұрын
@@midibudu I have driven 2 years without it but on the street it's just handy to have it. A proper dash won't make the bike weight that much more. Considering it's the street you drive this bike you won't notice it and cost, well previous models had a good dash and the price was not more. I mean really you telling me a gear indicator is not a good thing to have? If you drive to the limits of the bike having a rpm count is very good to have.

How on earth is this $1200 more expensive than the 790 duke?

Do you recommend it for someone who has not experience on motorcycles? It’s long time ago I do not own one!

I think the people saying it’s heaving are comparing it to 450’S and 250 dualsports with aluminum frames built for supercross tracks

Abs light comes on right before he gets on the highway. Did he turn off abs? I purchased this bike 3 weeks ago and is currently sitting at the dealership waiting for ktm to figure out why abs light is disengaging for no reason.

Sit as far forward as is comfortable and squeeze the bike with your knees. Simple.

The only thing I hate about that bike is the minimalistic dash. Might as well not have one at all if it's going to be that crappy
