2019 LAWN CARE TRAILER SETUP

Great setup very similar to mine I have a new Ariens Ikon 42 XD and a new Toro Super with 2 new echo trimmers, husqvarna handheld blower and poulan pro gas hedge trimmer. Have a backup old Toro Personal pace Tecumseh thats been a great mower I just keep around. We get snow here in st charles MO so I have a little Toro 2 cycle 16" Powerlite snowblower. 5×8 trailer with E Track straps bolted down on the plywood. Quick and easy to strap over the rear tires on my zero turn

Instead of buying more tie downs you should look into the power locker. It is much more efficient with un loading and loading. You literally just drive the front tire into it and lock the pin. I use them in my enclosed and it saves me time and hassle of tying down every time and you know your mower aint moving an inch. Super versatile, i highly recommend. I got mine on Ballard equipment

NICE! That's all you need for a 1-2 man setup. I've come across other channels who have a 20 foot trailer and $12,000 machines and 5 trimmers and seem to be trading them after 2- 3 seasons for a 2 man crew. For residential customers that's it right there sir, great stander and trimmer and yard equipment. Don't be too quick to spend more $$$ for equipment than your business may not need handle. Just KEEP IT SIMPLE 👌 GREAT STAND ON AND PUSH MOWER!!✌️

Nice efficient setup, looks like you got all the bases covered... you can make some decent money with that setup just add effort! I just downsized my setup went from enclosed 16 to open 12 as I lost my largest account this year to a new guy on price. No harm though it frees up hours for higher profit work. Mowing is only about 15-20% of my gross and takes up 40% of working hours so it’s def not my highest profit. But necessary to have foot in doors

Thank you! That sucks you lost your account but glad to hear you were able to adjust accordingly. My thought is I’m a solo operator and I want the smallest footprint with the biggest profits as possible.

I used that 5x8 trailer for years and loved it so much because of its size! I just upgraded to a 6x12 enclosed trailer and HATE IT, I miss the small trailer but the lawn equipment exceeds the capacity of the trailer and WILL blow out the bearings or bend the frame

Great setup! But if you add anything else to that trailer, get an A frame tongue welded on at least. That single straight tongue worries me with even one mower on it.

strap chocks for your big mower. i use them on my rider, and barely even use the straps anymore, unless i'm driving my rig long distance. i just park the mower between the chocks, don't even set the parking brake ( which doesn't really work anyway, that's why i bought that strap system in the first place ), and she hardly goes anywhere. now, i have hit some bumps and dips in the past ( i don't drive like a grandma 😂 ) and the mower will shift to one side or another, but she won't roll forward or back or pop from between the chocks. mine is the erickson 09160, but there are other brands out there.

Shane Horvath not every state has the same laws on cross chains as Nebraska does, where i lived if you get pull over and cops see you don't have your chains cross is a 90 dollar ticket. Its best to check your own state laws on how you should have your trailer chains set up

Thank you! Yes, I’m still active. We primarily mow on Saturdays and/or Sundays. I’m an instructor down here on C-17s so our schedule isn’t the normal schedule most have since I’m at a schoolhouse.
