I’ve been looking at the 200xp and the regular four stroke 200. Other than two more cylinders in the xp and it being slightly heavier, the performance specs are almost identical other than a slight difference in top speed and RPM ranges. Are there any advantages of one over the other? Both look like great engines.

Jon, I have only run the XS, so I don't have any personal experience to relay to you. What I have been told is that the V8 adds more top end speed, more torque for hole shots, and is actually quieter than the six. From personal experience, it does beat my past 6 cylinder Verados in those categories. Wish I had run both so I could be more help.

Sorry, my seven year old (at the time) son filmed this for me and is just learning the nuances of shooting video in a boat. He is learning and getting better every day at video/photo work as well as fishing. Thanks for your patience. BTW, this boat sold, but will be filming a review soon of my 2021 Lund/Mercury. Different boat this year.

Thanks. When I am not guiding or fishing tournaments, I am filming for my You Tube Channel, getting promotional videos and photos for my sponsors, and getting photos for my magazine articles and online fishing reports. It is usually my son and Dad with me on non guiding or tournament days. My Dad is 73 and his vision is not as good as it used to be plus he shakes some from some meds. so he is struggling with video and photos. My son volunteered to fill that role, and while some of his early ones were a bit rough, he it getting pretty good at it now. Thanks for viewing my channel, hope we can continue to educate and entertain.
