We still own our 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6 4WD.. it's loaded with built-in Navigation & Rockford Fosgate sound-system.. We bought it brand new with 9 miles on it back in March of 2009..We have owned it for 10 years now and current mileage is 91,000 miles.. Here in southeast Michigan the winters are brutal and the Outlander has never let us down.. Our 10 year 100,000 powertrain warranty officially ended last month and never even used the warranty.. The only thing I've done for the Outlander XLS was routine maintenance from our local Mitsubishi dealer for oil change, brakes & tires.. I would love to see the domestic makers with a crossioer/SUV in their line-up make it 10 years 100,000 miles trouble free!

Thanks for the great video. We purchased the 2018 GT May 2018, also the quartz brown, and we are loving it. Only missing two things: remote start (yes we are aware of the programable start, that is great if you are leaving at regular times but does no good when leaving at unplanned times) and a sun glass holder in the ceiling. Thanks to Mitsubishi for making such a great vehicle so affordable!!

That is not a jump point in the trunk, it is an access panel to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery (for PHEV technicians) The boost point is under the hood under the fuse box cover.

Power train updates coming as MY2020
@KMaCK88485 жыл бұрын
Woody Yu - Thanks Woody. Most auto manufacturers have the model year change August/September. But there seems to be a lag from my viewing of when Mitsubishi rolls their models out. Do you expect the upgraded PHEV Mitsubishi to shipping to U.S. dealers in August / September 2019 or after January 2020. I got a leased Ford CMax PHEV that closes out in August. I’d love to switch leases at that time. (Love the CMax just not enough cargo space)
@woodykeiko5 жыл бұрын
Hello Karen. I guess it is possible MY2020 will appear in August/September 2019, although I'm not sure. For some reason the nerfed MY2019 came late to USA (end of February 2019), with USA's relatively low prices, perhaps it is not a priority market like the higher-margin European and Asian markets, which received the fully updated MY2019 much sooner. The good news is since they are already making the fully updated version in volume, they can (and probably have) sent the 2.4L PHEV to USA regulatory agencies ahead of time to avoid any delays... but only time will tell if they will arrive sometime this year or early next year. I'm in the same boat... waiting for MY2020, I don't want the nerfed MY2019.

Very good and detail Video. Although it’s a 2019 model but they still use the 2.0L engine instead of the 2.4L and 12kwh instead of 13kwh avail in Europe . They only improve the looks. My be Mitsubishi doesn’t thing US car buyer is smart enough to tell the different.

You are missing in your review the fact that this car loses the acceleration when is going up hills for more than 10 miles since the cell battery gets depleted and at that point, the fan stop working and gets overheated. Did you try to go up hills in this car for more than 10 miles?

I own the 2018. And quite disappointed with the S-AWC. When stuck only two wheels spin. Even with the 4wd button pressed with or without the TC system on or off. Should mention as well that we have gislaved nordfrost 200 with studs. So should really not be having issues with traction in 6+" of snow.
@woodykeiko5 жыл бұрын
It is electronic 4wd (electric motor powers the rear wheels), there is no mechanical drive-shaft so no engine power to the rear, so no, it is not meant for 6+ snow or *any* serious off roading.
@bowrepublik5 жыл бұрын
@@woodykeiko I live in Canada we get 1meter of snow often. So clearly you're saying I bought the wrong vehicle. Twin motor with a claimed S-AWC I can see if they said AWC but they branded it as similar to the Evo with S-AWC it does not fully lock any wheel as this guy says. When stuck one front and one rear spins, Opposite sides.
@woodykeiko5 жыл бұрын
@@bowrepublik Hey James, yeah saw that. Car Question also did some off-road tests with the PHEV, it did ok in low clearance snow, but almost any vehicle can go through that. It failed miserably at the diagonal incline and sand tests. And as you've mentioned, it can't seem to handle medium to high clearance snow.

Only the 3.0L V6 Outlander prefers Premium. The Outlander 2.4 and Outlander PHEV both use regular.

@@Trades46 it has also been proven that the PHEV has both high and low octane fuel maps. Though the answer to what is the minimum octane is regular 87. Maximum 91 on the secondary map. what's the mileage you get when running on hybrid mode?
@bowrepublik5 жыл бұрын
Do you mean fully electric? In the summer I get from 37-60 electric only. Depends on road, stop/start Hills etc. Winter with heat on 17-35km . If you mean hybrid mode as just driving in normal and letting the vehicle do what ever it wants. Then you'll get 500km from a full battery and full tank on a highway trip. If you stop at a level 3 chademo station 17-19 minutes for a full charge. If your like our family running small errands a full tank of gas you'll achieve 1200-1900km per fill up. With charging at home. Gas tank is about 40L to fill. Calgary to Kelowna to Victoria and back 3200km vacation road trip cost $298 in fuel and charging. Most charging was free. But had to pay a couple times in BC. 2 bucks each full charge. Hope that helps. Ps we love our PHEV. But we hate that we didn't buy a fully electric car. Next car will be an EV. Such a pleasure to drive.

@@bowrepublik Thanks for the reply mate. i was wondering how many miles per gallon do you get once the battery runs out of charge and the car is just running on hybrid mode exclusively? There is no charger at work so i'm not sure if this will be worth it for my situation. Any advice?

@@jaxster888 not sure about mpg because I'm in Canada. But driving 140km starting at a full charge and ending with none. I get 5.2L/100km at the end of the 140km trip. That's from my house to Mitsubishi where the vehicle is serviced.

Forward Collision Warning system does not warn based on relative speed, it only gives if the front car is stand still. in real world we need for a slow moving front car while you are approaching in high speed. a little Garmin GPS "Garmin 010-N1682-02 Drive Assist 51 NA LMT-S" does a better job. I finally bought this GPS for warning. My old Subaru FMC was far far better.
