I have a 2016. I love it but will admit that the ride quality is probably my biggest complaint. Larger potholes can be very harsh. I recently drove a Kia Sorento on a work trip and it seemed much better dampered. I'd still buy another mitsubishi in a heartbeat but the ride quality over rough roads is not its strongest attribute.

I don't see Mitsubishi staying in the N.America market for much longer.
@pasta-eo5mt5 жыл бұрын
People have been saying that for years. Mitsubishi's sales have been increasing for the past few years. Now with the Nissan investment my hope is that they're here to stay. I forsee them becoming the 'value' brand while Nissan will move slightly upscale to differentiate the two brands.
@whatthehell13385 жыл бұрын
pasta1298 They build some of the worse vehicles in their segments. They have a sparse dealer network and poor reliability. The only people that buy them either want a cheap car or have poor credit. Nissan has alot of work ahead of them to make them a credible competitor.
@pasta-eo5mt5 жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with wanting a cheap car. I drive a 2016 Outlander. I'm not sure where the poor reliability perception comes from. Everyone I know that's had an older mitsubishi has easily hit 200k miles without major problems. I'm at 30,000 miles with no major issues. I know that people who drive Toyotas and Hondas look at my car and think "why would you buy that?". I look at their cars and think "why would you spend that?". LOL To each their own!
@ericvalenz5 жыл бұрын
Consumer reports actually ranks the outlander higher in projected reliability than the crv and rogue believe it or not. Latest CRV has a known engine design flaw that leaks gas into the oil. Plus you cant beat 10yrs/100000 miles warranty

Don't buy this vehicle, especially the 4cylinder. It uses a Jatco transmission (same as all disastrous nissans) that goes bad. I learned the hard way. Also don't expect much from the dealerships, they are a second grade manufacturer.
@palebeachbum5 жыл бұрын
The CVTs in Mitsubishis are WAY more dependable than those used in the Nissans. I bought a 2012 Nissan Versa new. The CVT started slipping at 38k miles. Highway miles, at that. I traded in on a new 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, not realizing it uses a variation of the same Jatco CVT as in the Versa. I got rid of that car at 56k miles and had zero trouble from it. Half that mileage was hard city mileage. They had very different transmission behavior. Each manufacture takes the Jatco design and tweaks it to their own desired specifications. Whatever Nissan does messes them up badly. The Mitsubishi CVTs last just as long as any regular geared automatic transmission, typically. That's not to say there are some random problem cars out there, but that happens with any brand. I know people using Mirages for fleet use are getting around 180k miles out of the CVTs.
@palebeachbum5 жыл бұрын
@@jafaarjafaar I can see why you're sour on them! That's a horrible personal experience. I wouldn't blame you for not wanting another one too. The good thing is that they all should have been covered under the hundred thousand mile powertrain warranty though.

@@jafaarjafaar thats a shame. Some dealerships can be like that. Far too many. About 10yrs ago I bought a used 2006.5 Kia Optima, 3yrs old with 32k miles. Over the subsequent months, the driver side sun visor broke due to faulty design, the oil flow control valve on the engine failed, and one of the tire pressure monitor sensors failed. My local Kia dealership replace them under warranty without balking. Currently, I own a 2018 Hyundai Elantra. Bought it new just a few months ago. I've had three ongoing problems with it and have made several attempts at two of my local Hyundai dealerships to get these problems fixed. They all claimed ignorance or say it's normal for the car. My point in telling you all this is, sometimes it's just the dealerships you're dealing with.
@jafaarjafaar5 жыл бұрын
@@palebeachbum You're right, but I even contacted Mitsubishi Canada and you won't believe what they told me. They said that the service manager was wrong and should have never taken the diag fee, but they also told me they couldn't do anything and the service manager was in charge. When I contacted the service manager for the fifth time, he told me that $134 for diag fee isn't too bad since they covered $3000 worth of repairs, even though legally he couldn't (it was a valve body in the tranny). That was what really got to me, and I sold it right after it was fixed. It wasn't worth it for me reporting it to the ministry of consumer services. They also have a really poor dealership network here in Canada. I just bought a 2020 Corolla SE now, hopefully it will be as good/reliable as my 2005 Camry.

If it were a poorly built, unreliable, uncomfortable vehicle, I'd agree. But it's the opposite. Not only have they made cosmetic changes since 2011, but mechanic changes as well. Tweaks mostly, rather than major overhauls. That's how you build good cars. When manufacturers constantly screw around with major changes, they never truly work out all the kinks. These Outlanders are pretty solid vehicles for the long haul.
