Cool stuff!! My Yamaha XSR900 has full POWER Clutchless Instant Up and Down rev matching. It is fly by wire throttle. Glitches throttle to downshift or ignition to upshift. Totally seamless, never catches a tooth.. will lock out if you attempt to downshift thru redline. The next level!! Only use the clutch when stopping!! As Fast as a Double Clutch trans, more efficient than an Auto.. FULL POWER Upshifts!!

Rev matching was introduced on the 370Z with sport coupe versions and above when it debuted in 2009. I just bought a 2019 370Z sport coupe with the 6-speed manual transmission and so I've been playing with it. I believe that Nissan has upgraded the later versions of synchro rev matching(SRM) to include rev matching on the upshifts as well as the downshifts. In general, it does smooth shifting and reduces driveline shock when shifting but as an experienced hell and toe driver who is used to rev matching manually, it doesn't do much for me. I normally drive with it off, but I would probably engage it if I were driving it really hard and pushing it close to redline. It's like the traction control mode that I normally disable, unless I'm driving on very wet or dirty roads.

In the beginning of driving and learning to rev match, I thought this automatic rev match was amazing like I wished for it. Now that I am competent, I feel like the auto rev match defeats the purpose of having a manual - it is fun and feels good when you match it perfectly

Throughly enjoy your channel, straight shooter no BS, and not afraid to set people straight 😂 I have 2018 GT performance package one, bought in April, since then I’ve absolutely hated the way my engine sounds, still to this day, went to a few dealership and they pretty much told me to pound sand, I haven’t given up but feel slightly defeated. I have kept it bone stock because I don’t see a point in dumping money into something that inspires literally no confidence as far as mechanical durability or able to take a beating without being afraid of breaking it. Anyways happy for the dealer took care of you and keep up the entertaining and informative videos 👍

Just ordered an Oxford White premium, PP1, Showstopper red interior. Bummer part is the digital cluster is mandatory with the upgrade leather options. Can't wait. 2019 models hopefully got it right with the issues the 2018 had. My dealer had quite a few 2018's at major discounts but with what Alex and many others had experienced with the MT82, the ticks, etc., I wanted to wait for the 2019 models. IMO, the Performance pack models are a deal compared to the Bullitt, which is a nice car too but dealer markups here are killing sales. Bullitts will remain in dealer showrooms for a year of so, then will probably get sold at a discount, same like the Shelbys. I'm tired of playing that game. Put a positive displacement blower on a PP1 or PP2, and you've got something that will shame a few Hellcat and ZL1 owners at a fraction of the cost.

It's in the Track Apps. Did you notice if it ever stopped doing it after a long time? Sometimes those apps shut off.

I've heard many people say the pushrod chevy's feel less peppy than the 5.0 rotational mass wise, that probably has something to do with the feel of the rev matching on the z06, because the 7 speed manual has sensors for gear selection for said purpose

Does this one have the tap also? I think over 55% have the tap , probably more. Cold start tap with AC on or light revs. Also has a rattle while cold and light revs.

All new 2018+ 5.0's have rev matching. And new vehicles have small metal shaving build up in the oil after the first 1500 miles.

If you actually do some autocross, then the rev match might help on the slower speed turns to go from 3-2 and even 2-1. Glad you were able to get out of the other one.

yes the 370z was the first to implement revmatching, not sure but i believe it sort of helps on upshifts too then the corvette copied, love it on my Z. Enjoy it!

gt frank_5.0 newer cars don’t need a break in period. Rings are already seated by the time the car hits the lot. Besides my machine shop always told me break it in how you’re going to drive it. I bought my 18 & Supercharged it while I still had paper tags on the car & did several hard dyno pulls while tuning it lol. Can’t have a stang & not floor it bro!!
