I don't know about you, but most people older than 30 or so , occasionally get a neck or back pain and having a 360 camera in an SUV that doesn't have great visibility in the back, can be a great help. Unless you don't mind the occasional scratch. Or maybe in America everybody has a huge garage and lives in the suburbs where malls have large parking spots.

I bought a 2019 Rouge today it’s got 10k on it but got it for $22k. I felt in the test drive it drove like a go kart similar to my 2016 Nissan Sentra. I will be using this to commute to work as our daily family driver is a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse which has all the bells and whistles in it. I’m not comparing it with the Traverse. I think I got a good deal on a slightly used car. My previous daily was a 2004 Volvo XC70. I think this is a definite upgrade.

I had a 2019 Rogue as a rental a few weeks ago. For me there were a couple of big negatives with this vehicle. First I found the seats to be okay for short drive BUT would get uncomfortable on long drives. The back seat was uncomfortable from the beginning. Another issue that I found was the stupid placement of the emergency brake pedal. While most cars have the pedal located close to the kick plate under the dash, the Rogue's emergency brake pedal is much more centered under the dash. It is actually lined up with the brake pedal. I found that whenever I tried to stretch out my left leg while driving my shin would hit the emergency brake pedal. On long drives this was really annoying.

Buying my third Rogue. I put many miles on my car and have always found the Rogue to be perfect for me as a meeting planner who has to lug a variety of things to meetings. Yet, the weekend gardener in me also finds the Rogue to be adequate. Can't wait to see the new features.

Why do car reviewers only test the top of the line models? They need to let the automakers know to send a base model vehicle once in a while for testing. Not everyone can afford the top models and would like reviews on the lower end “affordable” choices available.

Yup....Nissan Rogue is boring. But my very reliable mechanic who's the best in this area swears by the Rogue, he drives the Rogue, his wife drives the Rogue....and soon I will be too. I'm tired of Subaru's sliding quality....replaced my rear brakes at 25 K miles, 4 recalls, and they still have NOT solved the head gasket problem. Then we have all the creature comforts they've added over the years that break...like their electic windows. Yup....the Rogue is boring but the cost of ownership stands out.

i agree. I like the electronic power steering. Its dynamic, smooth and buttery at low speeds and then firm and responsive when youre cruising around or in sport mode. The powertrain and it’s response time however, is underwhelming at best! I suspect Renault’s influence is making Nissans more efficient and cheap, instead of the zippy reliable cars they used to be☹️

I don't know the specifics about these two cars, but horsepower alone is meaningless. Size, weight, torque, powerband, throttle response, transmission and more all contribute to whether a car feels slow/sluggish or not.

Ok, enough complaining about cvt. Most of you haven't even drove one I suspect. Most of you just heard trash talk about it and continued the talk. Yes there are cvt's failing but there are auto trans failing too. I drove a taxi cab in Chicago for 7 years, altimas with cvt. No problems with cvt or engine. Only with hybrid systems and wheel bearing. Those cars had 200k to 400k miles and running. Mark my words in less than 6 years all cars will be with cvt instead auto. What are you going to do then?

My friend has a Nissan Rogue 2018. He got a call today from the dealer saying they have to change the motor!!!! My transmission on my Altima left me in the dirt just past the 5 years mark. My sister in-law has a Sentra, the transmission failed after only two years. Should i go on ? That's typical of Nissan reliability. I rest my case.

The Rouge is a unremarkable, but well rounded crossover. The major demerit is the fragile JATCO CVT transmission, which really puts a dent in resale value. Otherwise, it's a fine long distance cruiser. 7 hour drive from Phoenix to Nevada was comfy, fairly quiet, and very fuel efficient. But the janky CVT is a ticking time bomb

A 2014 Rogue with 170,000 miles is possible because its obviously mostly highway miles. The wear/slippage on CVT trans occurs on acceleration. So change fluid every 30k, no towing, no mountain climbing, no offroad, no flooring, just baby it and it will last, if you're lucky. But once warranty is over who will buy it??

If you are one of those people who thinks a car is a tool or appliance then this is probable fine. If you drive long distances or care about driving dynamics this is not the car for you. I recently had one for an extended rental and a 1200mi trip. Around town it seemed adequate as basic transportation. Get it on the highway is another story. The poor driving position and low quality seats will require stops every 2hrs to remove the pain from your right hip. The seats are very un-supportive, have no grip and the slippery cloth causes slouching in short order. Due to the height of the seat (high or low) your right leg on the accelerator pedal is awkward. The CVT is truly awful (as Micah stated) moans and groans with a rubber band quality to shift points. On the plus side Apple Car play works well and it is spacious. Would I buy this, probably not. If you are out on for a test drive you'd likely think this was fine as some of my passengers thought.

Nissan vehicles should coming up redesigns very soon. The Altima and Maxima have had their redesigns. The Rogue, Sentra, and Pathfinder should be for 2020. Murano and Versa, Versa Note should be 2021. The Frontier and Titan for 2022. I think next year maybe the last year for the Juke.

Lots of owners complain about CVT problems, such as sluggish or slippery acceleration or outright transmission failure. I don't own one (personally don't think Nissan delivers the quality and reliability of its Japanese counterparts) so I can't say much besides what I've heard.

Ans so the Transmission is trash it at least gets the job done compared to shifting into gear and still be in park. Thank god I leased mine it's a p.o.s. sl awd 3 times in for water leaks,steering wheel squeak when turning,also brake pedal squeaking,bluetooth sometimes not pairing and let's not take about that CVT transmission and lack of power.September cannot come soon enough
