2019 Peugeot 3008 Review!

This week's video is slightly early because yesterday we took a trip down to Italy to drive the 2019 Peugeot 3008. This isn't just 'good for a Peugeot', the new 3008 is a good car full stop. It drives well and looks incredible.

I've just test driven the 1.6 diesel. It had about 7km on the clock yet it drove brilliantly. Quiet, nippy, accelerates well on country roads and motorways. Did about 30 miles of mixed road driving and really couldn't fault it.

The torque and power figures are about the same as for a 1.6l Honda i-DTEC; it's par for the course for this sort of engine, and as the car weighs about the same as a Civic, I wouldn't imagine that its performance would be a surprise. The crime here is that the 2l doesn't come as a manual.

there is a 2.0 litre 150 horse power manual as well

True, and the engine and gearbox line up might change after a few months if there's a demand for something that isn't on offer.

Fair play to them, they've come along way in just a few years. Their entire range of cars are now excellent including the hugely reliable and underrated 508. I also heard Peugeot working on a petrol electric hybrid 3008 for 2018.

What is it comparable to, in terms of size? Quashqai? Santa Fe?

In terms of size, Nissan Quashqai, Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage etc. absolutely.

A little smaller than i'd hoped for then. I'm looking at the Santa Fe and Mitsubishi Outlander, and i like the look of this.

Take one for a test drive when they get here in January time, see what you think. It's maller than an Outlander, certainly, but better to drive and nicer to look at. Well worth a test!

Ruhban Ahmed Peugeot's own brakes, developed in house, as opposed to bought in from a company like Brembo, for example. Sorry, will be more specific next time! SW
