So a useful tip I don't know if you are already doing this but it's good to clear the snow in the crease because somtimes you can trip or stumble over it like 1 game I tripped on that luckily it was a slow low shot so it just hit but you never know what can happen
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I try to clear the ice but I should probably do it more often like between every whistle or so. Thanks for the tip 👍

I loved the new cameras, especially the opposite goalie one because seeing your own team’s shots is a luxury that goalies don’t have and plus, it’s like two GoPro goalie videos in one! It’d be cool if you could have a cam on the corner glass, like where the photographer’s hole is in NHL rinks, so we could see the shots at that angle. I wouldn’t worry about the goals in this game, I mean some were not the hardest to stop but your defense wasn’t the greatest either. Keep up the good work!
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I am thinking about changing where the middle camera is to point at one end or I might switch it every period. And even if my D is not playing well, I need to step up my game to help give us a fighting chance. It shouldn't have been a 6-2 game for sure. But I understand what you are saying.
@scotchhockey20205 жыл бұрын
The Puck Stops Here Yeah that sounds good. And I agree with you, there’s always room for improvement but I guess for me personally I would get self conscious about a 6 goal game and I just didn’t want you to think you were a sieve. You can always get better, but you’re not a sieve is what I’m trying to say I guess 😂

Nice try Sam! First off I really enjoy the Extra cams, just adds to the overall quality of the video! Secondly it was a tough one and you were definitely the busier goalie of the two. Though deflections can be so unpredictable and yo didn't have a chance on most of those. One more thing is the "broadcast" style scoreboard you edited in was phenomenal and I hope it's here to stay! Keep up the amazing content!

@@ThePuckStopsHere Thats awesome. I think I wear mine too lose but I would like to have some input because if i put it tighter I am afraid I wont be able to breath. Looking forward for the video. So for my first year in net Im at about .685 going to try to get that up. Last night at a game I didn't have my gopro and did way better than usual. I tried a new setup adjustment on my new goalie pads and it was really nice. I was not fighting them and was on the road to learning as opposed to fighting my gear. Keep it up man! Love the videos and actually replying!!!
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome that you started to record your games. I would recommend filming every game as it does help you get better. Even if it is a pickup game with some friends. And yeah, trying new things is always a good idea if you feel like you were having issues with your equipment. I’m glad you found a setup that is working now.
@mikemc6205 жыл бұрын
I’m surprised you say that you get your skates sharpened at 5/8 and that they’re still too sharp to you. I get mine at 1/2 and like to keep them fairly sharp, helps more with pushovers when I’m already down.
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
I think it’s all about what you’re use to. I use to sharpen my skates once a season at a 1/4 but for the last season or so I’ve switched to 5/8th and the first skate after they are sharpened is always a bit tough for me.
@iceone12165 жыл бұрын
Great extra angle shots Sam. Makes it very interesting to watch...as well as seeing the other goalie's perspective. Tough loss...but I really like your optimism in the third period. It's never over until the fat lady sings...not sure if that is politically correct anymore, but it's true especially in the ASHL where anything can happen. I also see that you are planting your stick flat on the ice. Great job!

I think the other goalie cam is awesome The center ice cam is a little weird but overall I think it was a great improvement
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the center ice cam was weird because it wasn't centre and it's hard to see much from there. I will mostly use that if somone does an awesome deke or if there is a hit, or fights at center and you can't see it from the other cameras.
@Raylep15 жыл бұрын
As a new goalie do you play a different style for beer league rather a playoff game?
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
I don't switch up my style. I do feel more pressure but I try to keep calm and just do what I have always done. If I had practices to try new things, I might switch it up a bit, but because I do not, I try to play the same regardless if it is a meaningless game or the championship.
@christianvail73995 жыл бұрын
I might try doing a helmet cam for a practice of mine. I was wondering if you noticed any weight difference or if you are worried about the camera being broken. Really enjoy the multiple camera angles by the way!

I’m glad you liked the multi cam angles. Regarding the helmet, I don’t notice it at all. And it’s only been hit once after like 20+ games with it and didn’t break, so I am not worried.

One question Do you put the camera behind you inside or outside the court? Becaus3 if you put inside there's the risk of it getting hit right? 🤔
@ThePuckStopsHere5 жыл бұрын
I put it on the inside. Yes, there is a risk, but so far I haven’t had any issues. I believe it’s because the camera is right behind the net and most shots come from an angle which means it is less likely to hit the camera which is usually exactly behind the middle of the net.
