First and foremost I want you to know thatif repairs are needed in the FORD you have to go to the dealership. BUT if it's a Cummins engine you can go to the Dealership, Marine repair dock (Cummins make it for boats, trains and logging equipment etc) and most CAT, ASL dealerships for excavation equipment. 6.7 is used in various stages of diesel power. The mirrors are for better wind resistance flow for MPG. Just let the Wife drive it and in 22 klms you're going to have a answer!

Actually the 12" display is VERY important when comparing. Bought the 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 Limited, and it was a total POS from the very beginning. (I'm sure this isn't typical, just my experience) We had it for 3 months, put just shy of 5000 miles on it and I really wanted to love that truck but it had problems from virtually every aspect, many of which were with the 12" UConnect system. Keep in mind. If you have ANY issues with the Uconnect software, RAM WILL NOT TOUCH IT!!! The dealer will tell you it's proprietary. I had many failures with the system and Uconnect simply stated it had to auto update via satellite. That can take hours, days or weeks. Hopefully this changes in the future, but for now just be aware. I won't get into every problem we had with the 1500 but they were diverse and many. Needless to say we got rid of it. I ended up back at another dealer trading the 1500 Limited for the 2500 Limited. Virtually the exact same truck just the bigger, badder brother to the 1500. I've had the 2500 Cummins for about the same amount of time and mileage and it's LIGHT years ahead of the 1500. The only thing I don't like about the truck is the upgraded HK stereo. I'm 50 years old, love quality music, and have several high end cars to include Ferrari, Audi and a Porsche Cayenne Twin Turbo S with an optional 6K + Burmester stereo system. To me, the Alpine system in the RAM 1500 Limited was far better, but not for the reasons you might think. Go to the dealer, grab your phone, load your music and do a comparison BEFORE you spend the extra money. The HK system with the bass cranked and treble/mids flat, still sounds like an AM radio until you turn up the volume. Now, call me crazy, but I don't tend to drive around town with the stereo cranked almost everywhere I go. I like to have it at a decent level but enjoy an occasional AC/DC Back in Black maniacal blast like every other self-respecting American. It's just not possible to enjoy with this system as the sub is virtually extinct at low and mid level volumes, and this includes many bassy tunes. HOWEVER, I've read that the 1500 HK systems had the same problem and there was a software update that could greatly affect this system, but I haven't read anything about the 2500 yet. Shouldn't matter as it's the same system, but time will tell. Aside from that, I don't know that the truck is worth almost 100K, but it's definitely nice. I think I'd wait for the 2020 though if you're going to buy as RAM may have bugs to work out from the 2019 itteration...just my thoughts. But, certainly a nice truck thus far...thanks for the video!

@itchytriggerfinger76225 жыл бұрын
workplaytv I bought it with low miles From a dealer about 8 years ago, it now has about 135,000 and still run good. And drives good. I can’t justify buying a new one yet. It does everything I need. The 3rd gens didn’t need a tune delete. You could plug and play chips from all your favorite tuners. banks, edge and there were a few more popular ones, I went with a edge. It has four stages of power an ,eco, towing, racing etc. I liked the option of it defueling if it senses any clutch slipping. First mod I would do before turning any diesel up, is a pickup pump. as the stock ones are not made to keep up with the fueling demand, and will fail after a year or 2. Get a Fass, that’s what I did, and have never had to worry about it again. I don’t even know if you need tuning on the new ones as they are pushing 1000 pounds of torque. Maybe a Ram intake, and filter, banks makes a nice one. I wouldn’t do anything though until the warranty is up, and then mod away.

Wow you did an excellent job of giving the ram a fair shake, that's hard to do when you've been given great service form your chosen brand. Reading the comments, they mostly focus on the preference of the Cummins over the power stroke. I'll opine the same way to comment that an expert comparison said the in line 6 has 7 main bearings on the crankshaft, while the v8 power stroke has 5 main bearings on the crankshaft, which could lead to a longer life of the bottom end. The other point he made was the inline 6 cummins is widely used in over the road trucks and heavy equipment, unlike the power stroke. Once again you did a great job on the video, but you should pull the trigger on a ram for a long term test.

There’s still various features Ford has on the interior that Ram doesn’t as well like massaging seats, electric telescoping steering wheel, adaptive steering. Trailer backup assist and things like that. The new things on Ram (Panoramic sunroofs, adaptive cruise control ,360 degree cameras ,CGI Cummins engine block hydraulic auto valve adjusters and other things) were already used on Ford trucks for years. The only thing that Ram has cleared Ford abit on (debateable)is interior look and 12 inch screen 😉😊

We can tell you are a Ford man. But it's nice that you where honest much as possible. To add to that. The computer in the ram is not unlocked yet. After 500 miles it will release a little more. After 1000 miles it will unlock all of it and then you will clearly see the ram is way more powerful than the Ford. I can honestly say this because I know the characteristics of both trucks. I have at least 50 trucks in my fleet and the majority is fords until I switched to Ram in 2018 and never will look back. And yes they are apples to apples. The Ford is quicker off the line when both trucks are empty. But when you put weight behind them no matter how much or little the Ram will blow the doors off the Ford hands down no contest and still get better fuel economy than the Ford when empty. Again I know this for a fact and didn't believe it myself until I took the chance and tried 3 ram 3500's with the Aissin trans and know I have a total of 9 rams and counting all identical in my fleet since 2018. And yes I do have a few 2018 F350's as well. Again no bias just facts. I also can tell you the maintenance on the fords is SUBSTANTIALLY more even on the new ones. And its a bunch of dumb shit but they ALL do it. I mean even down to a 1 year old F350 with 50,000 miles on it and the damn ac stopped working because the hoses and clamps Ford uses are as cheap as can be and again every single Ford in my fleet has done it. I will never EVER by anything else besides Ram EVER. I have 150,000 miles on one of my 2018 ram 3500 and not a single issue. Not a one and trust me when I say those miles are not highway miles. All my trucks carry at any given time at least 3,000 plus pounds on the and most of the time are towing heavy equipment trailers too and the Rams kick ass and take numbers.

And honestly if I was truly on your level of maturity and trying to have a pecker measuring contest I would insult you back and maybe say something like ask your mama she'll tell you the same story. But I would never do such an ignorant thing because I'm bigger than that. But again no need to have a measuring contest because I walk around kicking mine because it damn near hits the ground when I walk. And that's not a story either and again if I was ignorant I would say ask your girlfriend but I'm not and would never say such and ugly thing like that. So you see how calling someone a liar and saying I'm telling a story which I'm not and every single word I said is the truth and it is my findings and it is my facts not my story. So you sir can have a nice life and keep on fixing your Ford and maybe one day I'll help you tow it to the shop with one of the many Rams I have. I guess depending on the day and what I'm doing will determine the Ram I would tow your ford with. But hey that's just the type of guy I am. Always willing to lend a hand or lend SOMETHING OUT.

picard the fords interior is not near as nice, your comparing the old style of ram that’s why. You need to see a new one. Ram has ford beat in all of it now. Exterior looks way way nicer and richer looking and interior is so much better. I recently just bought a Ford F-150 over a ram just because of the gas mileage. I’m a ram guy and the fords interior is so cheap compared to even the old style rams. Only thing I like about the ford is the gas mileage and it looks alright. They look a lot nicer then the new Chevy and gmcs that’s for sure but ram has them beat inside and out

@johnirwin18374 жыл бұрын
My 3500 srw Ram has more payload than a comparable Ford or Chevy. It is a Laramie ,diesel 8' bed, CC. The Ford wheelbase is 7" longer than my Ram in the same configuration. Thus more room in the cab. I don't want that much wheelbase to turn. I don't need the rear seat room. Wish I could still get the Quad Cab on the Ram.

On 3rd ram 3500 diesel. Before that a mix of everything. Bought a new 09 cummins, deleted from day 3 of owning it. Sold it for a newer fancier one. 2013 dually with aisin, i worked the living piss out of it. Was a toss up with that truck between ford, but dodge had the 30k gooseneck rating first. Put 200,000 on that truck (deleted of course) towing most of its life, i own a construction company and it tows 20+k all the time. I just got the 19 dually, and very little to say about it other than smooth... very good under large loads, handles even better than 13 dually did. Of these 3 trucks i have yet to EVER have a major issue, not 1. And like i said im no grandpa grocery runner. I like ford aswell, dont really care either way. But since ive owned and towed with cummins i havnt been able to leave them. 10k+ on the ram is where it shines, it just pulls like a freight train. It really doesnt care whats behind it. And tuned is the key, get ur dpf and egr out of there, absolute trash for all trucks. (My 19 is stock till its available)

@@workplaytv I think its going to set the pickup world on notice just like it did when the 5.7 came out and obliterated every other half ton in terms of power and acceleration. They have something up their sleeve. Personally if like to see a 4.0 v8 turbo engine myself. I think it would get better fuel economy than the EcoBoost because it has enough off boost power to keep the truck moving, but tur o engines aren't as efficient as people thing because under boost it has to run rich, meaning you use more fuel, and a small v6 in a 6,000lb truck is going to be on boost all the time.

Ya no kidding and one reason the ball joints and u-joints go bad so often on Ram is neither them nor GM have lockout hubs like Ford does and therefore the axle and u-joints are constantly spinning and causing drag and wear that’s completely unnecessary. The centrifugal spinning force also causes more pressure to the ball joints. That’s 1 reason I think Ford has stuck with the releasable hub system 💪🤙
