Yes I have been riding dirts bikes for years and I would not put my friends on a KTM 250 ( I own one) and they are a hand full and definitely not a beginner bike. Lance set him up. Poor guy.

Not relevant for this stage but funny how Buchmann is under the radar of the whole international press despite looking the best after Pinot+the alps fit Buchmann even more and Pinot often struggles under heat.

Original "pocket rocket" was Freddie Maertens, Belgian sprinter with multiple Green Jerseys, 8 stages of the 1976 Tour, World Champion...sprinted on 53 - 13 with 165mm cranks. Used to win prologues as well. Rode a 20.5" frame.

I took a tumble couple weeks ago at the end of a 70mile gravel ride, hot, dehydrated, still not sure how it happened but I went off the road into a washout ditch. Cannot imagine racing hard after that or the next day and I didn't break anything or hit my head. But I did bruise my ribs and it's hard to breathe deep even 10 days later. Please don't crash anymore G!

Phillip Lloyd Cippo never made it to the Champs Elysées (the sprinters world championship), he always abandoned just before the mountains, for that he somewhat loses my respect, whilst Cav has won 4 times on the Champs.

At 6:52 when they talk about Geraint Thomas, if you watch the video closely as he comes into frame, his left hand looks like it slipped off the brake hood or something. It's possible that something grabbed his handlebar on the right for it to yank to the side so fast. Lance, you know about that.

Per the shaving your legs, there is a Trainerroad podcast where some very smart guys who are aerodynamics experts and run a wind tunnel for one of the pro teams, they say that shaving your legs saves up to 20 watts depending on how hairy your legs are. That's a pretty significant savings over a long course.

I’d assume he hit a rock or bump, wasn’t paying attention so his left arm came off his bars while he was steering which caused him to accidentally oversteer. You can see in the slow-mo footage, his left arm comes off before the “over steer” happens

Geraint's chain & cranks locked up for some reason when he had only one hand on the 'bars, hence his crash. Very unusual, but maybe keep both hands on the bars in corners? Odd, that he should do that given that Froome's accident happened because his hands were off the bars...

womens sport does NOT reserve equal pay. Only once they reach equal viewership is equal pay justified....... Womens tennis has a lot of money in it(still less than mens) because their viewership is not much lower(30-70% of mens) Womens football for example is much lower but getting better. But if viewership is 1/10th payment should be around there too.....

IMHO, Max Richeze needs to stop making these dangerous blocking moves after he pulls off. In this stage he almost took down Caleb Ewan. In stage 10 he pushed himself in between Kristoff and Sagan for no good reason even when Viviani was on the other side. In stage 4 he almost caused a crash as well. Dangerous.
