If that was a 500 lap race I'd get nothing done today. Thanks for putting this up - really takes me back to those fantastic Bathurst days. I was in the Holden camp (dad worked for the General) but none of that really mattered. What a sensational drive - you were held up all over the place - kept your calm in the off and pulled a fantastic race together. No race format today IMHO gives the same emotional experience and raw feeling of 'man and machine' (or 'lady and machine' for all you PC types). Cheers and thanks - Dave

I've always loved Bathurst. That uphill then downhill twisty section is iconic, just like that down-hill mindfuck at Laguna Seca. It's always the first track I jump to when I get my hands on a new a new pavement-racing game.

Great footage and driving. Free revving Cleveland. I think this car used to race in NZ in the 80s. Dick Johnson came over to drive it and stick it to a pair of bmw635s that were dominating at the time. Unfortunately he screwed the diff on the start line.

Very tough car. The XE has always looked great especially Greens Tuff. My parents had an 4.1 efi, ESP model I'm pretty sure. Pretty quick ,quicker than the 4.9 proven by my dad!!

Hi Steve, the car is built to NZ Central Muscle Car rules and in Group1 we are allowed Nascar engines. The Falcon runs a 358ci RoschYates SprintCup road race engine dyno at 875bhp for this trip on Elf103 octane pulling 8500rpm (for the feature race we spun it to 9000rpm)
