Thanks for this video! Was very helpful. You went slow enough that could follow but not too slow. Was easy to see what was being done as you went.

Thank you for positive comments. I am still using it. This harness works perfectly fine after two years. One thing I would recommend for you, if you are not using the harness for towing disconnect, the fuse. Because when you have a constant power the end will start oxidizing and you will have to clean connector.

Very informative step by step video! Hardest part is definitely routing underneath the vehicle. This worked on my Jeep.

Great video. Doing the install for myself and this was very helpful as the included directions are black and white and very hard to follow for someone new to this type of install. Thank you

Thank you for positive feedback. I'm still using my trailer and this harness worked well.

on the 18.45 minutes, you don't have to cut the black rubber cap. just make a hole and put the electric line through it.

Thanks for making this video. On either side, above the connector where you connected the T-harness for the blinkers… are those wires for the reverse lights? If so, that would make tapping into reverse signal so much easier than routing all the way up the trunk lid.

I did not wanted to cut any wires, it was just easier this way to plug and play. Also what I do is when I am not using trailer, I disconnect fuse directly under the hood, this way there is no constant power going trough that cable. I notices some people have corrosion of connector.

When you were connecting the wires to the battery you are not supposed to clamp them you are supposed to use a lighter on it so It can shrink because now water can get on and make it all corroded
@nazarettos69874 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna tape it and its under the hood of the car. I'm also gonna buy wrap around heat shrinking tape.

Why cant you use an existing hot wire. Why do you need to run a wire to the battery?
@nazarettos69874 жыл бұрын
Hot wire is for the power. I could technically connect it to power wire from lights or some other source,but you don't want to overload the system. That's why you have to run power directly from the battery positive terminal with fuse in the line.

Tap into the 12 volt power outlet on pass side just use inline fuse holder , instead of running wire all the way to front of vehicle, do this all the time , no problems

@@richardhaase3064how do I do that?

You asked the same question I had in mind. I also wonder what the control unit is all about. With trailers now using (low power) LED lights, I would have expected that the trailer can just parallel connect to the existing tail lights. .... but that doesn't appear to be the case for modern case?
