Mario Reyes that’s the funniest shit I ever heard I have back up cameras and sensors and I still turn my head to look in either direction I never replied upon them. The back up camera and sensors come In handy if you’re in a crowded parking lot ect so they’ll help you especially multiple view cameras however you’re still suppose to look regardless even your car truck or suv will tell you that! I think I enjoy the back up sensors better than the cameras those honestly

We bought a 2018 RAV4 with 26,000 actual miles on it. Geez, the manual is so thick, you need a pilot's license to read the thing! lol The lane departure feature was weird, car steered itself when I crossed the fog line. Had to turn off most of the features so I could drive it. heheh Really nice car to drive, strange having electric steering instead of hydraulic assisted power steering. Great gas mileage. Very comfortable vehicle. We wore out our 2004 CRV, over 200,000 miles on it! I would highly recommend either one of these vehicles...far superior to anything Detroit can turn out. Thanks for the video.

My roommate had a 2018 Rav 4. In the fall, she was on her way to work and she had clipped our neighbor's car and she flipped her own car twice (She'd dropped something and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake pedal when trying to pick it up). She only had bruises and was very sore for a few days. The insurance company declared it totaled because all the airbags had deployed. I will forever be impressed by the safety features on their Rav 4.

Exactly though. The test was decided to be a test for the car's system, to make sure, in case the driver is not all that focused or is distracted, the car will take control, and do it's best to avoid a possibly fatal accident. I understand you saying this is sort of stupid, but as said, it's a test for the systems to manage to brake in time and in awareness in scenario of the driver being distracted.

Just tested rav4 yesterday. Two isofix child seats on back, and very narrow space between. My wife can't travel sitting in there. Great car for driver, and for 2+2 family model, but only if nobody have to take a seat in the middle... Also no isofix on front passenger seat. No deal for me.

Daniel Dudek Isofix is never available in front seats. They’re not supposed to be mounted there facing the front. Either way, the CR-V is sold as a 5-passenger car, but can only legally carry 4.

Can you guys do some crash tests where the vehicle is still but something strikes it either head on or the corner head on?? Similar to how you do the side impacts. An example is my aunt was involved in a car crash in 2014 where she was trying to turn left with her 2008 Honda Odyssey but was waiting for her chance to turn when she didn’t realize her car went to far into the the oncoming lane at the same time a 20 year old struck his 2003 Chevy Cavalier into her Honda. The Cavalier which was going about 45 or whatever the speed limit I think did a 360° turn before coming to a stop a few feet past the intersection while my aunts car which wasn’t moving at the point of impact turned left 90° violently. Her entire front end of the driver side was smashed in, headlight and wheel obliterated, and bumper hanging off but didn’t swing out. The front end of the passenger side was sustained damage but still was recognizable and the headlight was still intact.

Yes it ' appears ' so but we are 'armchair-assessing'. We don't have the equipment to test actual impact results. The CR-V seems to cushion the impact better on a frontal impact however the pillars appear to really crumple and slide on a side-on impact. It really confirms the need to drive within the recommended speed limits set by the State.

For example our version has a Russian certified GPS/GLONASS emergency service, which is definitely different than the US version. And Russian stereo systems don't have SiriusXM radio. Many differences, not the same. Don't forget that Honda for Japanese market is with a right hand side steering wheel and all words are in Japanese..

I think BOTH fared well. I didn't see much of a difference in impact. Other then the Toyota has a longer shaped hood in the front. Which in turn would absorb impact a bit better. But i thought the airbag deployment was FAR better on the Honda. Otherwise, as far as damage is concerned it was very similar.

You forgot to test the ESP on both, to see how the Rav4 FAILS BRUTALLY, while the CR-V is the flawless execution and example of how the system should work.

It bums me cus I want to get the RAV4 but I've seen how it fails the moose test. That matters to me cus here in Sydney, bus drivers are crazy - one time one cut into my lane when pulling off even though I was right next to him (as opposed to behind, in which case no dispute I have to give way) and I had to quickly swerve right to avoid collision. Best part is he kept shaking his head as if I was in the wrong when he had no regard as to traffic when pulling out!
