Here's what I think of the Triumph scrambler 1200 XE after the first 800km maintenance. The bike is as fun as it gets! But it's the first time I've had back pain/fatigue after a small 200km ride.
It's an amazing bike, but I highly recommend demoing it before buying and if they don't have a demo, just move on to a model you can try. On nice roads its fine, but if the road quality decreases its generally simply too harsh and fatiguing. Had I been able to try it before buying I wouldn't have bought it, as I have already sold it just a few months after buying it.
A few Pros I should have included in the video:
- Very low maintenance bike (oil changes every 16000km (though I'll probably do it every 10k)!
- Valve check every 32000km, was 20 or 24k on my 2015 Scrambler
- The engine is based on the T120 engine and has a reputation of being bulletproof.
- Most dealers will provide excellent service and you wont have to fight for warranty claims. They found a scratch on my rear fender (barely visible where it was situated) and they sent a claim for a new one before even showing it to me. They also replaced an electronic sensor that failed in the first 2000km.
- Proper handguards (not just plastic but aluminum)
UPDATE ON SUSPENSIONS:

And you can also reach out to this company who seem to have found a solution:

(not affiliated in any way, I never met them and they aren't the ones who worked on mine) they juts seemed to have found a way to address the issues at the source and their description of the issues are in line with what it felt like.
