Before this race, valteri was in an elevator with two fans of f1, they were asking him about the team (he said he works for them, rather than saying hes a driver.) It's because the FIA clarified how much fuel can be used by a chamber per cycle and since then the Ferrari pace fell out of the sky.... Wonder why

@@PuffNips8741 what i understood of it was that they tricked the fuelflowmeter by running a heavy electrical cable past it from or to the mgu-k/h or energy store. The magnetic field that the current running trough this cable would generate would throw off the measurement of the meter. That in turn gave a lower fuel-flow reading. Redbull stated to the FIA that they wanted to run such a cable close to the flow meter, for whatever reason. The FIA clarified the rules on that stating it would interfere with the meter and that it was therefore not allowed . *edit. so in short the FIA clarified that no cables could be run close to the fuel flow meter to prevent interference from said cable.

@@yoeriw7099 Geez...that's pure speculation. Leclerc was using a spec 2 engine with high mileage for the race since his original engine blew up in practice. Even during the warm-up laps before the race, Leclerc was the only one not pushing, which could only have been to conserve the engine. And during the race they must've turned the engine down to just consolidate 4th place. With Vettel out and Leclerc with engine issues, USGP is in no way representative of their true pace. If they perform similarly in Brazil, then your argument might have some weight.

@City Point saving tires and fuel are very technical. You must ajust the balance of the car depend on the tires condition. Choose the smoothest racing line. Lift and coast, late braking, etc. All without compromising your speed. It's like keep your stamina until the last.
