Me too. I'm not interested in the overly fancy design. It will look striking only for some time. Then it will be outdated. Passat B8 design is modern and captivating enough. Yet a little conservative and well done. Not too much. So this design still looks new even after 3 years and it won't fade after say 7 years

I am driving a Passat B8 1.8 with tuning box. I would say it's almost perfect and so much fun to drive. Strongly suggest to check out those pre reg units from the showrooms, you will be surprised with the deals. It worth every single cents really! 😋

No need warranty for so many yrs uncle.. I already own the car for more than 3 yrs .. no issue at all.. I driving average speed 170 to 230 in highway daily . Really enjoy it.

Well Passat is well known for its sporty performance. How about ride comfort and ride quality? When you put at Comfort mode, do you feel smooth and comfy? Is the car bumpy, shaky, quite unstable or keras? Because I sat in C200 AMG and 3 series also W204 C-Class and I found them so harsh, stiff and uncomfortable

Definately an underrated car. Comfortable, powerful torque, stable ride, simple no nonsense design. What more do you want. If you are a practical man and not a badge snob,This is the car for u. The TSI engine is the best. Expected performance from the same group of company as an Audi and Lamborghini. P/s hate buying new car now. Everyday have to wash in the morning, heavy rain every evening. Haha

Because what I heard from some VW fans is that unlike most manufacturers, VW declares Wheel Horsepower & Torque (WHP) as its official performance figures instead of commonly used Brake Horsepower & Torque (BHP). Basically Brake Horsepower is the power produced by the engine while Wheel Horsepower is the final power (after taking into account of power loss due to transmission & etc) If you Google WHP vs BHP, you will have many professional answers

Ya, on crank horsepower and on wheel horsepower is different. Continental car always measure thru on wheel but Japanese and Korean cars are measure thru on crank. Civic 1.5T on crank is 173ps but on wheel it was 155ps after dyno. Source from DME performance FB page.

If I'm not mistaken, the latest mk7 VW Jetta is only exclusive to the North American and China market. Europe does not get the new Jetta either. . (Apparently because the new Jetta is significantly larger than the outgoing model, its dimensions come pretty close to the Passat's.) The outgoing mk6 Jetta has been around the market for years already anyway, so it's right about time the phase the car out.

Radiator issue like leaking, thermostat or water pump issue. It is fixable and can claim under warranty. Other than that the common issue is the internal door handle plastic peel off a bit. Not really big deal but just don't expect it happen on 200k car. Other issue like door rattle all settle in first service schedule. Last time the B8 got fuel pump reading issue as it is inaccurate reading (not faulty like Honda which cause the car stop suddenly). The fuel pump sensor changed in first schedule too.

To be honest, we have already done the Genting run, waiting for editor to put together the video and release. Believe me, it was ok, and I have a 5 year old Golf R, 319 horsepower, 480Nm of torque, and still running hte same gearbox, untouched until now. The same car is featured in our Genting Night Run video in the Golf R

@@phunming1463X70 would feel bouncy on uneven and bad roads typical SUV, unless go for high end ones like Harrier. Passat would be better due to its amazing chassis and suspension tuning. As I recall my test drive, it's not so soft but not so stiff either. Sweet spot of firmness and comfort. Can meddle with the DCC configuration. If want more ride comfort, try changing stock tyres to Primacy 4, Turanza T005A or Conti UC7, to name a few.

Direct injection ermmm better use Ron 97 if can afford use Vpower to avoid or reduce carbon build up ....

This B8 is equiped with latest EA888 3rd Gen with DUAL injection now, 1 direct injection and another is port injection. One of the main reason to apply port injection is to flush the carbon deposit which built up in intake valves. But seriously using RON 97 can feel the different especially the engine feel quieter and less vibration in idle compare to RON 95.
