I drove an s90 t8 and 530i back to back and have to say the Volvo really didn’t give me as much confidence at high speed bends to push it, the chassis felt a little more slippery and a little less well put together (comparatively, it is already very good). The 530i was definitely more fun and sporty. But when it comes down to straight lines and city driving the 530i really paled, I always felt like I wasn’t the fastest car on the road, and that whenever I accelerate in a straight line it feels like the 2.0 upfront is being pushed quite hard, whereas in the s90 I feel special, and cosseted, the sound system is awesome, and I felt like I’m the fastest car on the road with so much power reserve in my hood waiting for others to tailgate me so I can just coast out of his sight. That is an awesome feeling....

i think from now on you have to buy the small digital desibel gadjet things that measure sound proofing inside cabin. its not 100% accurate but at least we can differentiate by seeing the numbers.

Interior build quality looks great - but it doesn't have that same sense of opulence or engagement that a Mercedes or BMW conveys to someone getting in for the first time. Kudos for the fantastic engine performance though, crazy for it to perform at 4.4 seconds in the century sprint! By the way, what do you think about the gearbox though? Would presume that an Aisin-sourced gearbox would dampen the S90's performance.

went to showroom and molest the car for half n hour...everything in this car is just so nice except one thing that I dun satisfy...which is the front seat thigh support...if the thigh support is not extended I feel the seat is short..if I extend the thigh support my butt can feel the "longkang" on the seat very deep and my butt was not supported nicely...I believe this might cause tiring for long distance driving...

You might be biased when commenting about infotainment system. It’s looks ugly, look very old outdated android tablet. Yes it might simple to use, but for the price , it’s should have been better. Simply ugly. Mbux and audi system are best in class. Stop being biased when reviewing.

A good infotainment system isnt just about being pretty. I think i mentioned before in another one of my videos saying volvo's UI design isnt as attractive, but in terms of touch screen functionality, it is the easiest to use and i explained the logic of my argument about too many functions being integrated into these systems nowadays resulting in a linear based menu access system not being the most user friendly and smartphone based icon system is the easiest. Why dont you argue with my logic and based your argument on your logic explanation instead of feeling offended and calling me bias when you are the one being offended by your own biasness not being agreed upon?

I myself drive Xc90 , only thing tat annoying me is the infotainment system, not only the look but how it works, and what it can do. Im a techie, so I expect better for tat price point. As a professional reviewer, I expect something unbiased reviews, but I Guess I’m expecting too much on genuine side.

Yes, G20 is sharper, more manic. Put it this way, provides you like to do weekend mountain runs or attend track days. For if not, the G20 doesn't have an advantage over the Volvo 99% of the time. And this is a tax deducted car, because specs like this should cost rm400k at least if follow G20's taxes.

So far the ones I've tested that are quiet and silent but with performance, Giti Sport S1. There are plenty of Eco tyres that are silent, but those are shitty in grip and performance. PS4S is rather quiet too for its performance levels.

Hey Bobby what is the 0-100 for the car when the battery is flat ? Will the car be underpowered since its around 2 tons when the battery is dead ?

nope, it will still have reserves even when the indicator shows flat. and whenever your battery is flat, the engine will automatically charge the battery to maintain a minimal level. so you will never be in a situation whereby your battery is completely flat.

I just test driven this S60 today. The test car has depleted its battery (from what is shown on the battery gauges on the dashboard screen). Even with depleted battery, the car still blows me away with the quick acceleration. My goodness, it's so quick. Definitely not underpower at all..haha

HI BOBBY. Could yo please advise me. My mom wants my papa to buy merc C300. My Papa said that it is too expensive and not worth it to own C300. He said pay too much for the 3 star logo to get so little for the qualities. Instead my Papa suggested Volvo S60 T8 or Lexus E250 Luxury to be more worth it in terms of finishing, space, good sound proof, comfort for rear passenger and safety features. My mom still does not agree with my Papa. She still insisted 3 star brand, . She said she never heard about Lexus or Volvo. She only knew that Merz is a good and branded car. It really makes my Papa mad and until now still have not decided to buy . My Mama scolded him that my Papa is pencen age now but still does not know to enjoy lifes . Please advise me.

Simple, just bring her for a test drive. Both Lexus E250 and Volvo S60 is miles quieter in the car than the C300. The C300 has a very very sporty sound in the car that your mom might not like. E250 is super comfortable and spacious. Next, show her how tight the foot well in the C300 is against the S60 and E250. Other than this, the C300 facelift has improved A LOT compared to the previous pre-facelift version. The gear changes are smoother and nicer. You can also consider the A5 Sportback for your budget. :)

Still far better than Mercedes audio system. Even Burmester not so good. Ordinary speakers even worse. I have no idea why Merc doesn't offer quality sound system. Even Passat's normal (not Sound n Style) speakers are great. Other German offerings offer good speakers

Burmester is an excellent product provided u goif with 13/16 speaker...the one with c200 or even s400 that most m'sian experienced are weak...u all shoud hear in s500 or porsche to appreciate their quality...

Scott , when i done test drive the s60 , volvo sales also offered me registered test drive car to be sold , XC40 at RM220K , XC60 T8 at RM300K , I very itchy now !!! hahaha

2018 Volvo S90 T6 Inscription, 11 months, 25k miles. Not one mechanical problem. I’d say the BMW and Audi’s I’ve owned have a more refined performance feeling but most of the time you’re driving from point A to B and the Volvo’s luxury, tech (pilot assist is hands down the best only to Tesla’s auto pilot), tons of standard safety equipment and the front seats are really unmatched in that segment. I do enjoy not having a “me too” car like a 5 series or A6. The only negative I have and it is my personal opinion that the car is too big for my needs. I’m sticking with Volvo and picking up a 2019 Volvo S60 T8 Inscription this Tuesday. Give them a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly impressed.

not sure about india's market. for malaysia market, both cars comes in single spec, and both cars are priced identically, but because the volvo is a plugin hybrid, it is tax free, so we are essentially pitching a RM280k BMW against an RM450k Volvo, but because it is tax free, hence both at RM280k.

@@BobbyAngmalaysia Thanks Bobby! Sometimes the highest version of these models aren't released in India. BMW did not launch the 340i in our market, so we booked the 330i m sport. I think India will only get the 190hp petrol version of the S60 so no point waiting. Now if only bmw could hurry with the delivery!

I’m a few minutes in to the video and we’ve already disagreed on two matters. The aggressive front bumper look you mention, I think of as cheap shiny plastic. The seats are ok but it’s a 300k car so the fabric disappoints me. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the drivers side area but missing a wireless Qi charger pad. The rear passenger area is sad, not much headroom for tall people and come on, give the passengers a few toys, usb plugs, controls to adjust. And what’s with the cheap rubber scuff plate on the central tunnel? Car weighs 2.050 kg and still has no spare tyre or electric trunk open and close. Trunk cover feels flimsy. This could have been a slightly crimped luxury S90 at a better price; rm 300k for a bloated souped up economy car just don’t cut it for me. I enjoyed driving it but prefer the power delivery of a 2.0 Passat compared to the hybrid Powertrain of the Volvo. Philosophy is similar to American muscle cars of the 60’s; quick in a straight line but very hard to make a 2+ ton heavy car proper fun to drive. Colin Chapman would not have approved. Volvo should stick to luxury with a slight bit of fun rather than R-design pretending to be sport first and foremost. Cool safety features incl collapsible seats, didn’t know that. And agree the touchscreen system is awesome. But it ain’t the bargain of the year. Think maybe a Mazda 3 or Proton X70 (yuck... SUV!) qualify for that moniker as also the outgoing Passat indeed does. A winner for Volvo... yes, if they still aim to just sell a few hundred cars then indeed but they could do 1000+ perhaps if it was a right priced T5 competing price wise with Mazda 6

Hi Bobby, I am an ardent follower of your car reviews. I would really appreciate if you could do up a video or write up on car interest rate. I remember once you mentioned that you would prefer extending the car loan up to 9 years as its so cheap to loan now but that's not the case i feel. You mentioned in your old videos that you gotta pay RM 1 for every RM 100 loaned that would mean its 1% per annum. I don't see anybody offering at 1%, the lowest I have seen is 0.88% by VW. c300 is 12 extra and has good specs to justify the pricing. so kudos to mbm for bmw, i think that their 5 years free everything is included in the price tag ( hence lower spec but people THINK they get a good deal) . Although, models like the G30, G32 and G12 is not underspeeced by any means or overpriced by market standards the G20 to me is considered overprice (

Actually, if the BMW 330i doesn't come in M Sport specifications, then it is overpriced. But since it came with M Sport everything, which isn't cheap mind you, then I think it's ok. But then Volvo bring the S60 with R-Design plus full specs into the car .... LOL ...

To be honest, the C43 is more exciting with the fake engine noise, the aggressive gearing. The S60 is wayyyyyy more comfortable and better sound proofing. C43 is one of my favourite drives though
