Great vehicle. My favorite Volvo. Looks smaller than reality with his camera lens which he obviously needs for the interior shots. Love your reviews. Keep it up! How about the new RDX??? 😀

Great review Chris as always. I was wondering if you could show the car keys in your reviews, maybe before showing the interior or at the end of the review.

Could the XC40 R-Design be considered a kind of upscale GTI? Or are the dynamics and inputs of the car too dull to think that way. It looks like a cool car with a nice interior...

Thank you! Calm informative review, sometimes the sales staff is really hyped and get you worked up (in a good way) and when you think back you can't remember some of the things they went over with you lol. I'm a fan of this little beauty!

Good video, more about the driving experience than the clever overall design features, but why oh why do you, and pretty well all other reviewers on KZbin, IGNORE the voice control ????? no need to flap about changing screen settings while driving !

It is a nice car. Drove it and seems just right. Would you pick this over a Mini Clubman S/JCW?

A lot of people have complained about the start stop feature. When the car starts back up again, it lurches forward. Did you experience that?
@nickdavenport38483 жыл бұрын
Mine does lurch forward. Have had 2 car two days, decided already to turn off the feature from the screen
My GF has a 2019 and it is awesome. If it had more power it would be almost perfect.

@hazmatcinemaxxx3 жыл бұрын
@@plainlybasic2300 I know this is an old post and you might be dead by now but I think Volvo could put the T6 300HP engine in it for a little extra boost. An XC40 T6 R Design would be a nice trim level for the buyers who want a sporty version with more power that is cheaper than the all electric version.

Inscription is fully loaded right? Momentum is base model
@MrChadder0074 жыл бұрын
The inscription comes with the features in the premium package as standard along with the moonroof. It also has some extra trim bits and wheel options compared to the momentum. Otherwise you still have optional packages with the Inscription such as Advanced, cold climate, upgraded stereo.

I think this has better NVH than the V90 that you drove because it doesn't have those ridiculously large wheels. Huge wheels ruin NVH.

With so many vehicle functions only available through the big touch screen - that thing could represent the "poster boy" for distracted driving. Ironic, as Volvo has historically been linked to vehicle safety.
@jeffs60906 жыл бұрын
blitzbbffl - it really isn't tho. Most of the functionality is set once and it's done. The few day to day needs of the system is no different from any other screen or tablet people use all day everyday. In no time, you've memorized how to swipe and push to what you need. It's super easy. Note: I too own a loaded Momentum black with red leather since May 2nd. I love it! I lease every 3 years and this is the best car I've had.
@blitzbbffl6 жыл бұрын
Jeff S - I appreciate your response. I prefer the tactile response of real buttons, switches, and knobs. For, example, when I want to turn on seat heating/cooling - I have a push button switch that falls to hand. As I understand it, on the Volvo system the seat heater function is buried a couple menus deep in their system. Btw, I really like the many clever design features on the XC40, and it must look great in your black/red color combo.
@jeffs60906 жыл бұрын
blitzbbffl - 1, the black/red combo is freakin gorgeous! By far the best way to spec out this car. 2, the heated seat is definitely not buried deep in the system. It is a part of the hvac buttons at the bottom of the screen that are static no matter what other menu screen or map you have on the upper part. It's always there at the bottom of the screen, so it's a simple one push and the seat warmer is on. But, I get the liking of actual buttons and knobs. I was kind of in that boat (but of course that's how cars have been for decades). My last car had a touch screen with other buttons and knobs. So, it warmed me up to this. Plus, of course having tablets and smart phones, this is the future, this is the now. The system on this car is super easy to use. There's a lot to set up through all the menus and how you want each thing in the car to work and look. It takes a few minutes while you sit in your garage, but then it's done. Just like getting a new phone. You take a while to set up the features, where you want your icons, etc, then it's done. The day to day usage is nothing.

Nice video as always... I don't know, call me old school, but I feel like Volvo is kind of losing their design language after the Chinese took over. It's not as cohesive as their Scandinavian interiors used to be... I hope they don't lose their soul... Also... it's entirely unacceptable to see the same laggy infotainment/dashboard display with choppy animations/transitions on a 2019 model of any make. Any car you buy new, should have butter smooth and super touch sensitive displays because you are in a moving object and you cannot wait for display output. It's really silly and there is no excuse for this kind of money, given that you can buy a $700 smartphone with smooth UI animations, but somehow that can't be fitted on a $50k car. Manufacturers should really start partnering up with relevant tech companies which can put high end display systems to take their cars into the future.

Nice video, good job covering the details, but the point of a "POV" video is to put the viewer in the driver's seat. Your nonstop talking during driving stops people from better experiencing what it's like to be in the cockpit. Not making any noise during that section would improve your video.
