Not trying to give any RV dealerships any suggestions, but your videos ALWAYS provide enough information to aid in a buying decision. I have watched over 20+ RV dealership sales videos of the 59G but have come across none where the host laid flat the bed, commented on the dimensions, and noted the comfort for one (and definitely not for two). Observation - To be honest, I believe most guys (the less athletic ones) don't lay on the bed and negotiate the bathroom because the video would wind up as a blooper segment / 'left on the cutting room floor'. I appreciate you showing how things work, calling out the challenges, but putting these challenges in context of the asking price for the RV.

wow Anthony thank you very much for noticing and appreciating the videos reviews that I do. I really try to go honest reviews that you won't find on KZbin. love the bloopers comment! probably more true then we like to believe! thanks for watching as always.

I like the way you do your reviews. You show the good and bad and tell us why. I think RV manufacturers should watch your reviews and take notes. I appreciate it because I'll be buying my own class B in a couple of years and this helps me know what I need to look for. I'll know to look past all the new fancy gloss and check the little things like positive locking mechanisms.

well thank you very much Michele of the Oaks. I know of at least one manufacturer, Pleasureway that watches my videos and indeed makes changes to their models in part due to what I'm saying in my reviews! lol up SAST.... you need to go into both a class b and a class b+ and see how you feel inside each one for yourself. We're the Russos like the idea of a really small class b - like about the size of mine. but Creativity RV likes her Leisure Travel Unity class b+. if you're going to be parking it in a city then maybe the b is the best. Creativity RV doesn't park in the city so the b+ works well for her.

Love your videos! I keep coming back to this camper because of the way it's laid out and the size. Things I'd change would be no sink in the wet bath, awning windows and I'd rather have a regular kitchen faucet with a sprayer. Hope someday I'll be able to afford one, till then I'll just keep watching you.

But mad respect the ultra Mobility as he always tells you whether he sponsored or not not like some of the other channels they're looking to benefit and profit off your viewing experience
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your saying this casaaprile. other RV lifestyle channels get touchy when you ask them if they are sponsored. I don't understand why. if you're sponsored just be up front about it. don't hide it and don't try to fool people into thinking that you're not. if you feel defensive there must be a reason. maybe these sponsored channels should ask themselves why they are defensive? why don't they want to be up front with their viewers? maybe the answer is that they like the money but don't want to lose viewers. well, you can't keep your cake and eat it too as they say. I hope you viewers continue to press these other channels to be up front with their sponsorships. they need to stop pretending that their sponsor doesn't call the shots. one channel that I know of is sponsored by a large RV manufacturer and they have NEVER said anything bad about that sponsor or their products. they pretend to their viewers that they aren't sponsored and only grudgingly admit that they are sponsored when a viewer asks and then call those viewers "trolls" for asking. it isn't fair to viewers.

Hi Neil - love your videos...correction though. My 2018 Pleasureway LEXOR has a stainless steel sink in the bathroom. I love, love, love my Lexor. I think it is just about the minimum size for 2 people- we go for 7-10 nights easily, and the maximum size to (easily) drive and park. I drive it to work every day, I can park in any Trader Joe's parking lot, as well as Costco, where I also get my gasoline. We get about 18mpg overall. Comfy bed, big enough refrigerator, never-ending power with solar. Pretty perfect, as your Lexor review showed.

A little kid could sleep under the bed on a air mattress or futon. making it a bunk bed and three sleeping areas in a class B. This makes it by far the most family friendly B class. With the bed up there is the driving seats, table couch. Chair across from the couch, and couch where the bed goes. Four working spaces. Again, this design is so flexible. I have been torn between a class C and this and after watching your video feel that the flexibility of this design allows it to be family friendly enough support my gang. I hate the way c classes are so boxy and just too ugly to the point they will raise so much attention.

It's not free - for a fraction of that 20k price difference, you could buy an extended warranty for the winnebago. Considering the reported quality problems, you'd need that 6 year warranty - especially if you get eco trek & volt start.

wincrasher2007 - well kind of... as far as I know the Zion doesn't use stick framing and staples. the price difference between the two is not $20k once you're done negotiating. they are about the same.

The huge thing that is disappointing to me, a potential future buyer of something like a Travato 59G (I'd love a GL, but it may end up out of my price range) is the generator is a LOUD piece of crap. How come I can get a small, portable, much quieter unit as a stand-alone, but RV makers can't get something better than the loud obnoxious Onan generators they use?

As many have stated, your channel is very informative. Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any discussion of the used Class B market. I would be curious what the sweet spot is in depreciation and still having that new feel, as well as the pitfalls of buying used low mileage Class B's. Thank you. I'm thinking of going full time but am concerned about the small square footage of a class B as opposed to a fifth wheel. I wonder if over time it will feel like a jail cell. On the hand, I am extremely concerned about the fit, finish, and reliability of a fifth wheel. Maybe just overthinking my decision.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
well quality is always an issue as is living space. you really have to think through the living space. you don't want to buy something and then regret it. some people love small spaces and some people don't. you may want to consider something like a "b+" as they are small enough to drive around in cities but give you more living space inside.

Tks Neil, price wise it's very good, but the layout ?????
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
layout is strange Claude. I don't prefer the small bed in the back that can only comfortably sleep 1. reviewers never mention that small bed and I don't understand why. it isn't practical for 2 people. that means the 59g is only really suitable for a single person.
@wincrasher20076 жыл бұрын
This was the first layout Winnebago came out with. Essentially, this is the prime layout in the European market - although their twist on it is the bathroom. Most eurovans would not have that refrigerator/microwave stack - that would be a tiny bathroom with a cassette toilet (like in the Aktiv) and the bed would span the rear of the van. Winnebago's thinking was that since you could seat and sleep 4, it would be more appealing to the youngish families and grandparents.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
they need proper 3-pt seatbelts on the jumpseat if they want to entice families. no family is going to use this van's jump seats for their children with only lap restraints. if that was their intention then their product designer needs to be fired. just my thinking. sorry to be so harsh but I get tired of marketing departments designing these vans. they want their bullet points in the brochures but then don't want to spend the money making all the decisions necessary to support that marketing pitch. don't market it as a 4 person van that sleeps 4 because it can't really carry 4 passengers safely and two people can't really sleep in the rear bed.

yes lithium batteries are expensive. I'm not sure how much more they add. I think on my ascent they add something like $5k for 200amp hours.
@wincrasher20076 жыл бұрын
That's the crap system in the Hymers & Roadtrek. The Pure 3 system is $29k MSRP option (the street price is about 70% of that). What you get is a huge battery - 10kW, a second alternator that charges at 48V, an autostart system, and a whole house 30 amp, 3600 watt inverter. It's an extremely capable system and is the same as what is put into the high $ Advanced RV Sprinters.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
yeah they are expensive. I would never need 10kw of lithium batteries. I don't need to run my rooftop ac off batteries. for me 400ah would be perfect. I have 200ah and that works for me right now.

I like the design of both the 59K and 59G. Just poorly executed and an awful warranty. I’m assuming you saw TFL truck did a full review of the MBZ 4 x4 van? A 6 month wait list, wow. And with the new year model coming out this could be a major problem for van builders. You would think a company like VW would swoop in for some of that market share. Or some other company like Dodge or Ford would make an AWD version. I really hope this doesn’t cause Camper vans on the MBZ chassis to become even more expensive (ie the Revel).

ben check out the 16:30 mark where they talk about how they couldn't take this 4x4 on a certain stretch because of its height. keep in mind that this is not the tall version of the sprinter which is what is needed for camper vans. once you put the extra height in and add in the roof top components id be worried about the center of gravity being too high. just me though. hi Jen. If you're the only one sleeping in the van then the bed is great. I just wouldn't advertise it as a 4 person sleeper as winnebago does.

For 80K, has a lot going for it. Too long for me though.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
yep it is 1.5 feet longer than the ascent which is manageable but still 1.5 feet longer.

Where can I find a Travota near Berkeley, Ca?
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
Try LaMesaRV in Sacramento or Manteca Trailer in Manteca. I've purchased from Manteca and go to LaMesa all the time.

It seems to be busy, I like the K version better.

it's a strange layout with that largish bathroom and tiny bed that can only practically sleep one.
@irenehumphries19106 жыл бұрын
Ultramobility the couple from The Fitrv have this model. They fit in the bed, but I think it would be tight for anyone larger.

Great and honest review but a horrible class B rv. For class B, I’ll stick with Leisure Travel Vans
@Ultramobility5 жыл бұрын
just a reminder that leisure travel doesn't make class b coaches any longer just class c (class b+) coaches.

Is there anything you DID like about it? Never heard so much negativity!! Don't believe I care to hear any more of your reviews on other vans.
@Ultramobility5 жыл бұрын
i liked its price - at least at the time of the recording. since then winnebago has upped the price so i don't like that as much. i like the size of the bathroom. i like the garage. i like the accessories like the ladder and bike rack. i like the new lithium upgrade.

Definitely not worth 83,000.00 Maybe 48,000 but definitely not 83k.

oh dear bill - I don't think $48k would cover the cost of buildout plus the van!

Such a biased reviewed compared to your Aktiv review. Almost went out of your way for "I'm not a big fan of" items while disregarding like features shared with the Aktiv. I.E. Spent time praising all the wonderful Dodge Proram features of the Aktiv when it's the exacting same platform of the Travato. Your obvious biased preference for the Hymer brand IMHO taints your review.

thanks for your comment. I point out things that need to be pointed out. the travato comes with a 1 year warranty. that's a major problem and things like construction, stick framing and staples need to be highlighted. I've said in other videos I won't recommend any RV that comes with a 1 year warranty. the Aktiv comes with a 6 year warranty. for the things that I said I'm not a big fan of like the marine style sink and the tambour door I did also mention in th aktiv review. some things like the sliding screen door and low hanging cabinets in the lounge are not present on the aktiv I reviewed. as far as the ram Promaster features - I mentioned those in passing on the aktiv - I wouldn't characterize it as praising the promaster. I don't feel the need to do that on every review because most people know about the chassis. I don't recommend the 59g for its price. you'd be much better going for the aktiv with its superior warranty and better options like volstart and eco-trek. I could have been harsher on the 59g like pointing out that I think its energy system is inadequate for the 6.7cf refrigerator. if you don't like this review just wait until I do a head to head with the 59g and the aktiv. then you'll really not like me...
@wincrasher20076 жыл бұрын
except people that actually have ownership knowledge will tell you that the Zamp solar has no problem keeping ahead of the fridge, that the Volta system option is light years ahead of Hymer/Roadtrek and that the Voltstart doesn't work in many installations, and that their battery setup is a kludge at best, with a 12v lead acid battery installed to make it work and that the BMS has a 60 watt parasitic load, so they have to have separate units at 200 AH each, which severely restricts your capability. All these details you don't know, because you insist on doing reviews like a realtor, not an RV enthusiast or technician.

Ultramobility Don't take it personally, I didn't say I didn't like you. Just drinking a bit too much of that Hymer kool-aid to offer up a fair unbiased comparison review.
