What a crazy seven game series. Pimped HRs, home teams losing every game, close games and blowouts, controversy with the whole Trea turner play… and a first time champion. It was a great series.

@@drewvandenburg4958 At the very least, he sounded surprised and taken off guard----like he was already anticipating Gerrit Cole to come in and save an Astros win, and he wasn't prepared to switch gears. They were also stunned that Cole was not brought in when the Nats began to increase their lead, but to be perfectly honest, so was I. The announcer here didn't have a script in his head and his reaction was perfect.

The camera flipping between Harris regretting every decision he ever made that led him here and Howie dancing to an improvised drum beat is already incredible. When you factor in every fan’s heart breaking at once and the entire crowd falling into a depressive silence so deep that half the stadium could hear Kendrick and Eaton driving the bang bus into baseball immortality and this becomes the funniest baseball moment of all time.

Howie's Clang Homer is the greatest hit in Nationals' history. We just knew we were going to win and just knew we had the game and the trophy when that ball clanged off the foul pole. I'm an old retired guy now who first went to Senators games at old D.C. stadium when it was new. Year after year they finished in last, except once in '69 when Ted Williams pushed, pulled and yanked the Senators up to a 4th place division finish. About the time I started shaving, the evil Bob Short took our team to Texas, and a 33-year drought began. In that time I went to college, got married and divorced, started a company and shut it down and had gray hair coming in. We didn't know it would take that long, and rejoicing began when we got the Expos. We didn't care they were lousy, it was a return of major league baseball and damned if the same happy, smiling, good-natured fan base hadn't survived! Mike Rizzo began working his GM magic in 2009 and in 2012 our gaudy 98-win season was a shock - a delightful shock and a venture into unseen territory.- Thence began an 8 year run in which only the Dodgers won more games and didn't get a parade. Howie's Clang Homer, the one Soto put on the railroad tracks at Minute Maid, Stud Hoss Stras one of only 3 pitchers to win 5 playoff games, with the third-best post-season walk-strikeout ratio, going 8-2/3 he-man innings for the win in Game 6 and a career 1.46 post-season ERA, and the only pitcher drafted number one overall to win a World Series MVP for the team that drafted him - - - - andandand arguably the greatest hot streak in MLB history was somwething I never dreamed possible. It still seems like a dream. They started the season 19-31, and didn't win a series until late May. Great experiences like that are so rare in life, and I'm thrilled to finally have experienced it, even thougfh it didn't happen until after I'd retired.

Why We Love Film if you listen to Bucks World Series calls, most of them are lifeless. He’s gotten better from 2016 on, but listening to basically the whole decade of 2010’s calls is sad because he seems to hold back emotion and passion. I wish he called big plays like he did with Stefan Diggs in the Minneapolis Miracle.
