It’s a blast, I’ll never let mine go, I have the 1st year of this 2nd generation vmax. These had to be pre ordered and you received in advance while waiting 2 special emblems that mount on each side of the frame showing what # you have. Mine is 2009 vmax# 0262 These bikes are flat out awesome and it’s the only bike I’ve owned that spins the rear on command right off the throttle. @@exothermal.sprocket maybe you missed the mid eighties. Kawasaki eliminater, honda magna, Yamaha vmax and the Suzuki madura were in a new class of motorcycle called a muscle bike. Thanks Chris!!!!!!!!👍

@robroussel2530 Hey man, I had a couple questions. I have a 2018 VMax I bought new and have no mods to date. The only things I did to the bike were LED's, horn, Ventrue F1 dash cam system, hardwire radar detector to my Valentine 1, but nothing to the engine. Did you notice anything different in the bike or dash after the upgrade, other than performance? Did you do anything with pipes? I really like the look of the VMaxs pipes and would never change them. I know you will gain performance with a full exhaust, but the bike has more than enough power as it is. Was there anything else you needed to do when you received the ECU back, or was it simply plug and play? THanks so much!!
@robroussel25305 ай бұрын
@@glickmpb I added a KN air filter, removed the cat and added a Voodoo pipe system, it didn't run right because fuel to air ratio, once I got it flashed, it was absolutely night and day, trust me, Chris Moore does what he says he's gonna do. I am 100% satisfied with what he did to my ECU. Once you get the ECU back, you plug it in and turn the key, start it, let it idle, shut it off and turn it on again. I can kind of understand in the first few gears, but why limit the power in high speed gears? If they want to limit top speed for road regulations, them limit the top speed with a governor. Why the actual power output? seems counter-productive to the point of a muscle bike.

90 miles is extremely annoying on trips here in the UK on motorways, I had xv535 which got about that and I rode 240 miles mostly motorway in one day, most petrol stations were 40 or 50 miles apart so missing one meant the next one was right on the limit and one time I had to ride behind a lorry in his slipstream to make it, so I was filling up every 40 miles or so, often the stations were a fair bit of a detour to get to ... On smaller roads it was not so bad but still always had range anxiety.

90 miles ? My 1st vmax only got 60-70miles with how I rode it lol Range anxiety is very real on the Gen2 Vmax. Because that’s a heavy MF to be pushing on flat so any hill you can forget it.

It's so sad that Yamaha has stopped producing this model or this type of bike

Not sure which is more fun for cruising....tuned Vmax or H2 SE SX. Need to go back and look at the torque numbers or the tune H2 SE SX before I chose.

Have both and I'm thinking the Kaw H2 SX SE ...... FTW. The Kaw , more power, less weight, and better gas mileage.

With a flash it’s so much better. The only problem with the vmax is the 100mile range lol. I have voodoo exhaust on my 2015 vmax

Yeah that fuel economy will keep you rested and you will eat more because of the stops. I keep two gas bottles in my tank bag when I venture out the city limits. It's a perfect commuter bike when I take it to work and back.

There’s a reason they put this bike in ghost rider 2

My question is why is the cooling fan at the back,shouldn't it be at the front cooling down the engine?
@terryjones18992 жыл бұрын
That's for the exhaust. He has fans in the front also.

What's crazy is it's shaft drive turning a 240. Probably closer to 200 with a chain and regular 17 rear wheel.
