Very impressive. It handles exceptionally well. The power is tremendous. Porsches, Vipers, even Godzilla waved you around. You passed just about every car on the track. Chevy has done a great job on this one, they needed it after the Z06 debacle.

Patrick H I was thinking the same thing. At first, it looks like some of the other cars are just on a Sunday drive but then you realize they're probably giving it at least 90% and the vette walks right by. He managed 28 miles in 18 minutes, average speed is 90 mph

What a machine!!!! The car is probably on stock tires. The Porsche's come with Sport Cup 2's tires. He was probably letting the tires get up to temp. Imagine if he was on track tires like Pirelli's Trofeo R's....they drop your lap times by like 2 sec. Either way, it's still impressive right off the showroom floor. Off course, this is years of running R&D in IMSA Petite LeMans & 24 Hours of LeMans in the GTLM class .

Was the cars transmission acting up or does manual paddle shift allow you to hit the rev limiter? just curious. the car is fast and probably still very new to you and errors happen. Regardless awesome driving. I'm not a big gm fan but the zr1 is a beast. please reply about the transmission. quick disclaimer I'm not hating on the car or looking for weak points I just noticed a few rev limiter hits and want to know if it's just simple driver error or the transmission.

PowerUnknown so I'll take some of the blame as the driver. I'm use to racecars that shift the instant I hit the paddle. The car was trying to learn me while I was trying to learn it.

bluterek155 thanks for replying. I figured it was just driver error. trust me I have plenty of my own! I'm sure some transmission tuning can speed up the shifts. so I've heard. I'm more of a manual guy myself but friends of mine with autos have had some adjustments made to speed up the shifts on other cars. nice car btw have fun and please keep posting videos!

Looked like a lot of fun! How come you didn't use any of the PTM modes while in track mode? That car has them too, right? It would have helped keep the nannies from intruding as much as they did, which is not good for your brake pads.

I think this was my 1st time out in the ZR1, still had the temp tag on it. I was coming from 3 years of winged formula cars with slicks and half the cylinders, seemed like the safer option.

I live in EL been to RA for over 40 yrs. Seems coming out of corner 14 going up the hill at about the 20 min mark was the only time ugot into 6th seem like that shift was a bit to soon.IMHO. Otherwise great run. How much Fuel did U start with?

Quick question was the car in front of you the first couple of laps a 991.2 gt3? And did any of the gt3s keep up after you passed them? because in the first few corners it looked faster in the corners but on the straight away you where killing it. Transmission performed fine, it was the driver who kept in a gear too low most of the time. You need to keep the engine in the power band, not down at 2000 RPM coming off a corner. 3500 or even 4000 should be the low end of where you keep it in this car.

Russ Pilgrim Hi Russ I understand the concept of maintain the car in the juice spot but look at 6.23 sec ....that's is the reason why my of comment ...the transmission is not consistent ... For example The PDK allways in track mode look foward with crispy shifts but this .. Nobody note how this transmission perform .
