I bought a 2010 C6 ZR1 new - and still drive it today! It is still an amazing car and I almost never get beat - even motorcycles fall from a 60mph roll (in controlled track situations of course!) I don't get the heat soak that the C7's seem to be prone to in a lot of the videos. I lusted after the 2019 ZR1 but my finances aren't ready for another 100+k car at the moment. I've been Bidened out of the market or Covided depending on your POV. LOL I'm gonna have to spend some money on it soon to clean up the little things that happen after 12+ years, Cracked splitters, wiper occasionally sticking like the motor isn't working right, hatch clunks and they actually put new cats in when one of them self-destructed a couple of years ago. I thought the motor had let loose! But it still runs strong and handles like a race car. Tires are EXPENSIVE. I run a Porsche tire that is a little larger, and stickier and that the tire stores around here can actually mount. I ran into huge problems getting the run-flats installed anywhere.

It would benefit everyone, the driver and anyone in the vicinity of them and if anyone who owns a performance car should get an insurance credit if they take said course. That last second of the video showing a car pulling out right in front of you and having to slam on the brakes.....was everyday for me in my 2015 Stingray. It was an accident magnet.

What is up with that? People tend to drive erratic around me when I'm in mine. Even my wife commented, and she never notices anything when we are driving together. Owned lots of different sports/muscle cars and this is the first I've experienced it. It's bizarre.

@@gtperfection1596 Not always about the power unless you're after bragging rights. The GT3 is a phenomenal car and would be my choice over the current ZR1 but with the "T" option. Not a fan of big wings even though the GT3 pulls off the look better than the the wing on the ZR1. Honestly the Z06 would be my choice before the ZR1.

Lee Douglas: What year is your Z & do you have an A8 or M7? I have an '18 WGG M7 Z06/07. I only have 1,946 miles on it so far. I wish I had time to drive it more but I don't. Though if I could afford it I'd also have a 720s & Huracan Performante in the driveway. The Z06 w/Z07 pkg. is great but it also has issues getting the power down to the ground effectively, like the ZR1. They have also packed on too much weight (C6 Z06 weighed 3,150 lbs for comparison).

The Corvette it seems has extended itself far beyond reason...consider the power levels available in the aftermarket are far far higher, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500+ horsepower levels. As these factory power levels & as aftermarket shops can reach stratospheric levels, the actual driven mileage goes down...up until the inevitable crashes...high dollar, high speed, high drama crashes, we saw this with Paul Walker & all his money, influence & car-culture antics. No doubt another of a similar notoriety will eventually die in such a similar crash...but the possibility of well shot videos of such a fiery death will be higher, & much more gruesome. Ultra-high-performance cars are affordable for the well to do, but the skills cannot be bought as easily...among those skills are one of restraint, wisdom, things that cannot be learned, but must be experienced, unfortunately, often to fatal ends.
