I've had my bike for approximately 12 months now and thought it was appropriate to talk about what I think of it in that time. This is not a review, its literally me just talking off the top of my head, unplanned, how I feel about the bike. Whats good, bad and ugly :)
Please like, subscribe and share the video and feel free to leave me any comments on how you think my editing is improving and could be further improved. I'm still very much learning and would love advice :)
Hope you enjoy the channel.

I’m getting one they are dropping Down Under $9,000 in the US for 2019 left over. Such a good deal. While people are trying to sell their used bikes with 10,000 miles or more on them for that or more your better off getting a brand new zx6r. I really want a gsxr 1000R but it’s a lil out of my price range with insurance and everything comes out to almost $20,000. The bike is $17 brand new plus about $3 grand a year for full coverage insurance

Do the decals bother you? How would you compare it to something like mt-09? Obviously completely different, but since you use it on the street, it might be worth looking at
@mostlymotorbikes

Honestly, the more I ride on the road these days, the more I think getting something like the MT/Z1000/Tuono etc plus a track bike is the move! Riding fast on the uk roads is just a lottery most days!

@@mostlymotorbikes Exactly my thoughts. I want a track capable motorcycle. That's a priority. But for the street, I would preffer a fun sport turing bike. At the moment I can't have 2 bikes as I have no room or trailer or car to tow a trailer. So I have a dilemma, get a zx6r or smth like mt09 🤔

@@mostlymotorbikes Higher bars, no fairings and maybe few other aspects seems suboptimal for regular track visits. Few open/tourist days times a year, sure no problem. Anything more, I feel zx is a better pick. Although, at that point, bike is usually no longer usable for the street.. Idk it's a hard and expensive decision either way, so I hoped you'd have an opinion :)

@mostlymotorbikes
@mostlymotorbikes 4 жыл бұрын
I’m 6” tall and for me the r6 felt really cramped. It also felt gutless in the midrange compared to this. This “feels” faster. I’m sure at 10 tenths on a track there isn’t much in it or maybe the r6 maybe a touch faster but for 95% of everything else I felt the ZX6 was better. Plus tbh it’s £3000 cheaper and the differences are so small I can’t see why you would pay 3k more unless you REALLY want a Yamaha.

So, if I could ask you a question... If you could only have one more bike for the rest of your life, what would it be? Under 15 grand I can't afford exotica 😂
@mostlymotorbikes
@mostlymotorbikes 4 жыл бұрын
Ooh good question (and good taste in music - I’m just a sell out to popular opinion 😉). I’ve loved this 636 but it was very much a “getting back into biking” bike. Didn’t want to go crazy in year one. I’ve ridden pretty much all the new litre/1100 super bikes and they are so easy to ride now it makes them great all rounders. I’ll be buying one later this year and all the test rides I’ve done have told me one thing....unless you’re Scott Reading, it’s just a decision of what “flavour” is your preference. For 15k and a bit of haggling you could get a new R1. For me, the sound of that would swing it but the ZX10 is an equally good choice. I’m summary, I would buy a 1000 in which ever colour floats your boat.

@@mostlymotorbikes sell out 😂, anyway back to the plot. How did you rate the oe tyres on the 6r? Worth it for the run in time or mashed your confidence? And how much was your first service? I always found the cheapest part of owning a sports bike was the initial purchase. I rode mine in all weather's, except for ice and snow, that would make me a total lunatic, and spent about £1800 a year on servicing, tyres, chain and sprockets etc. Of course carbs were always easier to deal with than fuel injection, and abs groan. Had a z 750r after I wore the 9 out, and after heavy rains I had to junk the entire electrical system which cost £1500, eek. Are modern kawasaki's far to fragile for UK weather? There are a lot of electrics on board these days, what's your view.
@mostlymotorbikes
@mostlymotorbikes 4 жыл бұрын
TBH I didnt go fast enough in the OEM before I got a rear puncture and swapped for actual S22's, which so far, at my pace have been awesome! First service was about £150, which feels about right. I am a bit of a fair weather rider being honest, its just a toy for me so cant comment from personal experience , however, Kawasakis are renowned for being pretty bulletproof. No issues in yr 1 for me on mine.
