I’ve owned my Jaffa for three years this month, like you say the exhaust sounds great. I can’t understand why so many people change it on the Z900RS forums, I’ve kept mine stock. The throttle on mine was terribly snatchy though. The Booster Plug made in Denmark fixed it 99%, but a ECU flash is coming up soon. The stock Dunlop tyres on mine were crap, Bridgestone S22s fixed that. First thing I installed were the Kawasaki heated grips, they are made for the bike but aren’t quite as good as Oxfords. Also fitted the genuine Kawasaki centre stand and rear grab rail. It’s the perfect road bike in my opinion, and people always want to talk about it at every stop.

I've put 45,000 km on mine and it has been nothing short of perfection for the type of riding I do. Commuting, red light racing/street hooliganism, back road twisties whatever you want it to do it will do. The only thing I haven't done yet is take it to the track and this would probably be the weakest area for this bike. You can put bar risers,bags and a windshield and tour the bike, I've put clip ons exhaust and upgraded the suspension for a more sporty ride. So far just regular basic maintenance and a valve clearance check and the bike runs perfectly every time. When I wear this one out there will likely be another Zrs in my driveway.

Hey Brook, Great question, the Thruxton is probably a bit more sporty overall but perhaps at the expense of comfort for longer rides. The Thruxton however uses very high end equipment which does bump it's price up. 4k is a massive leap, guess it depends on what you will use it for as well. Agree with most of this, especially the recommendation for getting the heated grips - best thing you will do. On the seat stuff, I don't agree. I am tall and the riding and seat position is terrible. The pegs are in the wrong place and the seat pushes you forward in a sliding motion. Had to spend some money getting the seat fixed which was disappointing. In all other ways it is a good all round bike without being spectacular in any respect except maybe the handling (very flickable).

@@Revviews Thanks man, as you can see, I am a Busa boy as well which is why the power of the RS isn't intimidating. Am taking the RS from Sydney Australia to Alice Springs in the next little while - lots of straight road and heat - it will be a real test, particularly of the seat. On the Akropovic, I have the headers on mine but kept the standard can which is louder than the Akro version. The Akro system though is very good at delivering more power and torque as well as impressive noise, compared to the standard system (if you like the standard you will definitely like the Akro). No digital speedo which I'd say is essential in today's world of speed cameras around every corner. They could have put that in between the clocks. No cruise control either. Nice bike, love the fake cooling fins, nice touch. Brilliant paint jobs on these. Swing and a miss for me I'm afraid.
@Revviews3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alan, yeah each to their own of course. Both cruise and digital speedometer can be added but them you would be better off going for the Z900 instead as the RS is deliberately going for the retro look. Personally I don't think either of those things are essential on this bike. If the rest of the bike floats your boat just add the other parts. If you want more of a tourer though the Versys would be a better shout. Cheers 🍻

@@Revviews indeed yes. Here in Western Australia they hide the mobile cameras in b the bush and they're everywhere. It is a beautiful bike though and as I said before the paint on them is possibly the best Kawasaki have ever done. I'd still be tempted though if the aftermarket cruise control wasn't $1000+. The OEM tires suck. The shock is shit if you are over 200lbs and want to ride it hard, and the fork is under-damped. That said, it's brilliant overall, and the above shortcomings are all easily fixed. Better tires, simple. I am running Pilot Road 5's and love them. Shock, you can go Ohlines, K-Tech, Wilburs, etc... Get a shock sprung for your weight. I went with the K-Tech Razor R Lite. Forks just need thicker fork oil, I went with Belray 7W and it's perfect. Hi Jonathan, appreciate your comments. Lots of brand new bikes coming out in 2021 so hope to see you back again for those. Wishing you and yours a merry Christmas.

The seat is like seating on a 2X6 hard and very uncomfortable

Hi Bart, hmm each to their own I guess. Most people think it's very comfortable. I review lots of bikes and it's up there with some of the best. Thanks for the view and support fella 🍻

Just another review that adds nothing to the zillion of other Z900RS reviews. You're just regurgitating everything everyone else has said already years ago. Try harder.
