at least the EGR cooler is external. the integrated exhaust ports placed in the valley of the engine is very interesting. I only wish Ford used variable band clamps all through out the motor.

The EGR can be a bit of a pain but there are some very helpful youtube videos on removing it in good detail just take your time.

No dig on anyone who owns a SD diesel, but the complexity and everything packaged so tightly is why I ordered a SD with the 7.3l gas.

I went with 7.3 gas for simplicity under the hood. The 6.7 looks like your wired headphones after going thru the washing machine; way too big of a rats nest to untangle to be worth your time. If diesel I would have gone Cummins, way cleaner design. This reminds me of my 80’ bronco; there were so many vacuum and electrical lines going everywhere. I had a vacuum problem and a mechanic wanted to charge crazy money to look at it bc he said it’s a huge rats nest that takes a lot of time to figure things out.

My 17 6.7 ….2,000$ and it looks just as simple as any other engine and I’m getting 22-23mpg at 70mph…on 33s…😳 I’m not done yet either…pusher intake system along with a water/meth I’m betting I can get this thing to get 25-26mpg when I’m done with it.possibly more if I cruise at 50-55mph on summer blend
