I heard that wheelie control messes TC. Check Big Rock Moto, Ian, explained it.

Thanks! So when I completely disabled TC, that included turning off wheelie control. However, in fairness I didn't try disabling wheelie control while keeping TC turned *on* at low levels. I hadn't seen anyone say that you need to disable wheelie control just for the normal 1-6 range of TC levels to work, and it did feel like the levels worked when I was adjusting them on that first day. If I ever ride one again I may experiment more but I *think* I'm good and that the turning off of wheelie control is for when turning off TC completely.

I own the same bike/model. When heading into off-road, and especially into hard off road, loose or sandy sections it's best to completely kill the wheelie control and TC . I've ended up stuck and bogged a cpl times due to the TC shutting down power right as I need to gas it, lost momentum and dug a hole. The WC and TC act together, and while hardly intervening at mid to higher speeds it will surprise you at low speed by how much it kicks in even when set to the lowest possible levels. It's extremely sensitive when climbing loose surfaces and will catch you off gaurd every time if not turned off.

Sounds pretty much perfectly consistent with my experience :D I should have spent the time to figure out how to turn it off completely before going out the first time. I wasn't used to off road ABS that's that sensitive.

@@PandaintheDirt Everyone struggles with the menus at first, there's quite a bit in there. Now that I've owned mine for a few months I find it easy to find what I need. I typically don't kill the ABS as I don't find that an issue off road. It's only when pushing to fast that it'll cause an overshoot into corners off road generally for me. The WC and TC are the culprit, and as stated slow speed uphill in loose conditions it over--reacts even when set to (1) so completely OFF is the only option. Obviously getting stuck on these bikes, given their weight is best avoided. It happened to me again yesterday on a loose riverbed and took 4 attempts and 20 minutes to get back onto firm ground a mere 20 feet away. I was near the point of exhaustion and alone by the time I extracted it. *always kill TC/WC before entering if possible!!

@@bmccameron7642 Yep. Sorry I actually meant TC/WC, not ABS. Though I prefer ABS off too for the rear wheel. In any case I figured the menus out (link in description), but I only did that in the evening after that first day. Shoulda looked into it on the first day before getting out there!
