Hi guys, we take your point that 148hp is a bit low for a 2L turbocharged engine. Our reviewers’ point is that 270nm of torque is sufficient for general use in Singapore’s context. In fact, Julian acknowledged that the car isn't mighty powerful at 8:44 - Jon

Wanted to do a stage 1 tune on this car and when it was dyno tested it actually puts out 183 hp and 307nm stock. I don’t know why Audi would publish much lower figures for this car. Maybe it was based on comfort settings instead of the dynamic setting but I realise I save more fuel on my dynamic setting than my comfort maybe due to better pick up.

148 bhp from the 2L,? Is this being tuned down for SG market? Same car elsewhere is 190bhp like the predecessor. I had the B8 quattro and it was 211bhp stock before any tuning. The previous B9 quattro model was 248bhp and its coming from the same engine.

Car is definitely a looker in real life as well (saw the green coloured A5), the contour is just so good. However, being so expensive, I don't find how Audi justify the price? The price of mild-hybrid? Who knows.

I have this car and love it. But I can never get a clear understanding of the electric motor. Some say it's there to start the engine when the auto stop is activated, others say, on the highway at cruising speed, the motor takes over and shuts the engine off for better mileage and is fully electric. I've also heard it works with the engine to accelerate faster.

@@yijiaren2398 I've had it a year now and no problems at all. They say to change the oil every 10k but do it myself at 7500 miles. I got the 45 model not the 40. The 45 has more power and will put a smile in your face. I also got it with the upgrade of premium plus with the Bang and Olgonson radio. Not sure if my spelling if that. Why has a 2 litre turbocharged engine become like the past Volkswagen group have used in their 1.4 litres engine with 148hp and 250nm of torque. And the boot size is even smaller than an Korean Avante by 20litres. A clever person would def get the Octavia RS with a similar 2.0 turbocharged engine but with 241hp & 370nm. 0 to 100km/hr in 6.7secs vs this pathetic 9.1secs. FC almost identical. Still can save 60k for the pocket.

These "auto journalists" have taken to Trump's playbook by dancing the elephant in the room, specifically the absolutely shameless statistic of 148HP and insisting throughout the review how "adequate it is", "how you do not need any more power", how " more power is no good". Come one guys, this is 2 steps back for Singapore's state of auto journalism.
