nothing like that 2.5 5 cylinder, but the beefed up 2.0 TFSI in the S3 sounds pretty dam good as well for a 4 banger, nice and deep exhaust note , not like a ricer.

Yeah the price different allows for more mods on the s3 but that rs3’s sound is just not even comparable. I’d pay 5k just for the damn sound.

Guys I'm in a country where the S3 used costs like $80K due to import taxes etc and we only get 90 Octane. Would you guys recommend I get an A3 2.0T and mod it slowly?

Absolutely. It’s the same engine for the most part! Just throw a hybrid on there and send it

@FunRuns no drivetrain loss in the S3 either. Haldex only sends power to rear when it’s slipping. Otherwise is FWD.

My s3 has 65k on it and I just started putting bolt ons on the car. The exhaust and intake/inlet/blowoff valve/turbo muffler delete/ resonator delete. When the tune gets put on this week it’s gunna fly for a 2.0 stock turbo on normal gas!

What bolt ons do you have? I got a hybrid turbo with full bolts ons and on e85 tune running 508 to the wheels torque is pretty good too at 489. 2016 audi s3.

The RS3 is worth the extra cost just to have that 5-cyl engine. The biggest letdown of the Golf R and S3 over a GTI, is that they share the same engine. So you can literally make a GTI faster (from a roll) with the same bolt ons, if you go IS38. Having a completely different engine in the RS3 is 100% why it’s worth it over an S3. A Golf R Isn’t worth the extra cost over a GTI.

I get what you're trying to say, but golf r's engine has better stronger internals, plus it's awd so it's totally worth it over a gti. Yes I do agree that if you go IS38 turbo on a gti you can be faster than some golf r's due to it being lighter, but the golf r's awd system is way better than gti's fwd

ummmm , no its not worth it .....the RS3 is 25K more , ( insane) don't get me wrong I love the RS3 and will probably eventually get one "just because" The S3 is amazing for what it is , I have one. You are wrong about "same engine" the S3 has a heavily modified 2.0 TFSI over the standard 2.0 in the GTI- the S3 engine has upgraded pistons with new bolts and rings, reinforced connecting rods, new mounts to transfer power to the crank, upgraded gray cast crankcase, upgraded cylinder heads made from aluminum- silicon alloy, new exhaust valves and seat rings,, new high pressure injectors, also runs a lower compression ratio.
