I have a 2014 B8.5 with a 3.0 liter V6 325 Foot Pounds of Torque 333HP, Supercharged motor, 6 speed. I also have a 2001 B.5 6 speed that turned 20 years old this month. You are spot on that this car focuses on the driver and the little things count and it still feels brand new. The 6 speed is smooth and not too long or short throws, just perfect and the main reason I bought a B8.5. It's powerful, fast, and with a set of Blizzaks here in a Rocky Mountain Ski Town it just rips like nobody's business. Great review and the 2020 S4 is a sweet ride...I just wish they offered a 6 speed again #savethemanual.

No, Mercedes is definitely not on the soft side lol. Their AMG cars are actually pretty rough and raw. The Audi's are a much more comfortable ride. Even a C43 AMG is less comfortable of a ride than an RS3 and RS5. The C63 AMG is pretty much annoying to daily drive. If you go for the non-AMG models, like the C300 or E350 then yes those are very soft and comfortable. Also, in terms of being able to downshift 2 gears in a row in a torque converter automatic, the C43AMG and other Mercedes can actually skip a gear if you double click the downshift paddle quickly. I can downshift from 8th to 6th gear immediately in my C43. A C43 AMG starts at $56k and that has a 6-cylinder bi-turbo; the C300 is the 4-cylinder variant and that one starts at $41k, the M340i has an inline 6 turbo that starts at $56k as well. So no, what you've said is wrong as well. At around $60k, there are plenty of cars that offer a 6 cylinder turbo. I like the reviews but I don't know where all these misleading info are coming from.
