You need high roof. You can stand straight inside even if you are 178-180 cm tall. Mid roof will not give you that.

Ford‘s awd system is often underrated. I‘m a huge fan. But still a bit disappointed Ford does not offer an awd for the Transit Custom. (At least not over here in europe.) A custom trail with awd would definitely make a lot of VW Bulli hardcore fans switch to Ford.

I would like to buy a Ford Transit RV, so I need to know the behavior of this vehicle: -On a snowy slope? -In the sand of a beach? -On unstable stones? ... in order to know whether I buy a AWD or a 2 wheels drive that I would make tranform in 4x4 by Quadvan or by Quigley.

@@Pasites Some people do not get it. This will not have the heavy duty parts a heavy duty 4 x 4 Truck has. What it will do is help greatly in snow & slippery conditions. Cargo vans have been notorious for being dangerous in bad winter conditions.

We had many AWD Vans in Europe. Mercedes Benz Sprinter 4x4, VW Tansporter 4 motion, Toyota Hiace 4x4, Peugeot Boxer Dangel, Ford Transit AWD

The fact that the AWD version is the same height as the 2WD version is a huge disappointment. I suggest that the vast majority of those choosing the AWD will want more ground clearance as it will likely be used in mild off-road situations. My first thought is to lift it 2" and get some larger tires on it.

Amen. I am looking to do a camper van conversion and a 2020 Long Wheel Base (148") Extended Bed High Roof with the AWD and 3.5L Ecoboost seems to be ideal. BUT.. there is a company in Idaho that offers a 2" lift kit for the Transit AWD and that will be a requirement. Along with some upgraded AS/AT tires.

Yes and no with the same height. Ford is making this for all weather, not necessarily a off road vehicle. Would be nice to see a overland version from ford sure. Ford does listen to consumers, it sometimes takes a bit though. This awd transit should have been here years ago..

Those thoughts are for your own purpose. This van is still a cargo van and delivery drivers don't want to climb higher in/out a hundred times a day. There will be several hundred folks that will want to "off road" with this while there will be tens of thousands of working folks using this van as a cargo/bus/etc. They don't want some higher center of gravity driving all day every day for work nor climbing in/out hundreds of times a day.

The MSRP on those is around $42,000 for the low roof 2wd. Not sure what the AWD adds to the price.

You're in luck then. The smaller Transit Connect is a much smaller footprint, as you require, and a 1.6 L EcoBoost. Everything you asked for.

@@jimalden9376 No I want the 3.5 eco boost, and the smaller sized transit, the 3.5 only comes with medium length wheel base, I want small. The transit connect is just a golf cart for cities.

they do it on concept and pre-production vehicles, it obscures the final design of a vehicle that hasn't officially been unveiled. i assume they shot this footage before the 2020 version was officially announced so the tape was still on the van.
