The metal trim on the rotating dash thing doesn't line up straight. That would bug the hell out of me.
@elliottanderson24533 жыл бұрын
Infuriating, especially on a £200,000+ car. The rotating display is a £4,700 option as well !!
@robertkamanzi91473 жыл бұрын
It bugged me too. They filmed that portion too quickly, perhaps we didn’t get to see it come to a complete stop after the rotation (I am giving them perhaps too much credit) 1:17 after review, the ruling on the field stand, it is misaligned.
@hellkitty10143 жыл бұрын
Drives me absolutely crazy and I have seen it on several FS reviews. It is not just this car. That would force me to never close the screen because my eyes would be searing with anger!

If it were Tesla, I would say the misalignment is real and is probably worse in real life. But Bentley has earned a reputation over a 100+ years , perhaps the camera has not captured the right angles and such.

The past two Flying Spurs have had very odd proportions, being based on various Audi/VW products. This one makes you immediately forget those. It seems impossible for a car of this size to perform so well, yet coddle you in such ultra-fine luxury. Those horses are obviously thoroughbreds being able to hustle a 5000 pound, 17ft long car this fast! There's just one problem: I can't afford it!

I can think of less reliable cars than those from the VW/Audi auto group. I’d start with Land Rover (which includes Jaguar). After that, target practically anything from GM, and the Daimler auto group. None of those later groups do well with any agency that tracks long-term reliability metrics.
@kiwiwanderingusa99883 жыл бұрын
That misaligned rotating info screen is one of many reasons to never pay this amount of money for a car. I used to be a butler and my employer sold his Bentley Turbo R and bought the Rolls Royce Flying Spur. He asked me to go over the car to see if there were any issues with it. I found over a dozen, including a spot of glue on a rear head rest, an angled screw in the drivers door sill, two loose threads in the seat stitching and imperfections in the front grill. Needless to say, my employer was pissed and had the car returned to make it right. You're merely paying for the bragging rights, not perfection. At these price points, I want perfection in the details, especially with how these depreciate!

I have tested this car and it would be really nice for 100k, but it just doesnt keep up with its actual 300k price tag. The interior quality is not 300k, the space in the rear definitely is not 300k, the engine is not 300k and the trunk is too small for the luggage of 4 people (let alone 5, but thats irrelevant). It is fast and drives reasonably well and easily, so it should be a good long distance cruiser (I only did about 90-100 miles in it) but you can feel that it is not based on a limousine platform, but on the Porsche Panamera. If you want a Bentley, buy the Mulsanne.

Bentley and Rolls can make a dual-clutch transmission work seamlessly in the ultimate luxury-barge, yet BMW uses a slush-box for the pseudo-sport-barge that still carries the M5 badge. The Bentley knows what it is and where it sits in the market. Despite all the gaudy screens and geo-behavioural-tracking devices, the M5 seems to have got lost. There is no such thing as an Energy Impact Scorecard. The amount a car owner spends on driving his car is called bank-balance-impact, if you like (or, for those who are clocking up miles down a dead-end road, waiting for the Great Depression Reset to scrub the memory of their debt and designed destitution in exchange for their total dependency, their subscription to an Essentialness Score, and their soul, it's called credit-card-interest-charge-impact).
