This bike does something better than any other bike that I know of that this point. I’m not kidding around. It is a bike that can be ridden by the first time rider, and it can also put a smile on the face of an advanced rider for years to come. Having a bike that can make both of those types of riders happy is an extremely difficult tight rope to walk, but I think Beta has done it here with the 200RR. This is now on my list of bikes to look at for the first time rider, and 10 years into my riding career, I have loved each ride on the bike as well. I also know of more advanced riders than me that are really enjoying their 200RR. That is very cool!
I will mention one significant complaint and a few other smaller gripes about this dirt bike, but the rest is high praise. The motor is not counter balanced, but you don’t notice the vibration very much when riding the bike. It is oil injected so you don’t need to pre-mix gas. I know many of you are scared of an oil pump failing (similar to the KTM TPI bikes), but I had no issues on this one.
Thanks to Beta USA for lending this bike to me for the review. This is not a paid review in any way. After really enjoying this bike, I have purchased my own 2020 Beta 300RR Race Edition for my next review.

Good review. About 30 hours in my 2019 200rr and thus far I am having the time of my life on that machine. I think I couldn't have made a better choice for my first full size two stroke enduro bike. Good stuff, indeed.

This video is what made me go for a 200rr instead of a bigger bike and im so happy with it! been giving it to a few 300 guys and they were really surprised by how well it performed. 10/10 would recommend this for anyone looking into trying enduro or want something to rip around the yard.

Tyler Ghost yeah, I might have to wait and buy a used one. I guess i could sell my KTM, just not sure I’m ready to do that yet. I’ve been getting into the hard enduro, this seems like a great bike to make the transition from a 4 stroke to a 2stroke. Especially for someone like me who has only been riding for about 5 years now.

Your description of this bike sounds just like my KTM 200! Big difference was that I had a 2006 which was the last year of the 125 Chassis. Which made the bike a little smaller which was awesome and confidence inspiring.

I own a 2019 200 rr. I think you did the most accurate review I have watched on youtube. Only other thing is the vibration is tireing on long rides on the 2019 anyway. I ride single track in the Tillamook Forest. Thinking about a 2022 300 xcw mainly for the suspension. Thanks Kyle!

I rode this bike during one of Beta's demo days and I loved it. I love 200 CC 2 strokes, they're the perfect size for me. Like you said, it's the perfect balance of power and torque and doesn't beat you up. You can lug it or wind it out. I ride more MX style but I still loved this bike. I had to Frankenbike the bike I ride now. I had a 2004 KTM 200 SX but didn't like the rear pds suspension so I bought a 2015 150 SX and swapped the 200 SX engine in it and couldn't be happier but the 200 RR from Beta is one hell of a bike. I had the same problem with the limited steering throw on my KTM but I took the bolts that were acting as stops and turned them in a couple turns. It makes a little contact with the radiators but it's worth it in my opinion.

Love your channel and especially your honest reviews. Kudos to Beta for letting you review their bikes. I own a 2019 200RR, and it is the most fun dirt bike I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of different dirt bikes in my 28 years of riding. I'm so surprised with how much low end power this small bore 2T has. I ride in the Pacific NW woods where I prefer the tight single track stuff. That is where this bike really shines! Like Kyle says, the power is controllable, but still fun. The smile factor is when you are riding single track and in some spots you can wring the throttle open and the bike launches, but not so much that the bike feels out of control.
@jotacalvo
@jotacalvo 4 жыл бұрын
Roost-a-Fish how do you compare it to a KTM 200? Similar? Better?
@Rivercreekrods
@Rivercreekrods 4 жыл бұрын
@@jotacalvo Since you can't buy a KTM 200 anymore, I would say better. But I do have a friend with a 2015 KTM 200, and we traded a bit. I wanted my Beta back after the trade. I just love the motor on the Beta and the compact frame. It's just a lot of fun.
@jotacalvo
@jotacalvo 4 жыл бұрын
Roost-a-Fish I was asking because I now ride a KTM 200. So which one to buy isnt really an issue. I’m just trying to figure out whether it would be an upgrade. I do have my Keihin tuned beautifully, and had the head cut. So motor-wise, I can’t imagine a stock Beta being better than my KTM. The turning radius would be a big deal to me, and the much heavier weight, as I’m a tight woods rider. But the smallish frame is a big factor for me, also, being so short. I think I need to ride one of these to know for sure.

Excellent review. I've always thought the 200 was such a versatile motorcycle so I was happy to see Beta put in valid effort into this one. I'll be jumping on a 150XC within the month due to the price I'm getting it for and the amount of fun I have on smaller two stroke motors. I don't think I'll have too much trouble keeping up with my buddies on their 250XC and FE 501, we'll see though! P.s. Great job on the detail in this review. I would love to ride this bike someday.

Either bike will be fine for you. Remember that the 300 has many ways you can tune the sting out of it, plus if you are around 100kgs the 300 has a bit more suspension tuning available to it. Or go a 300 Xtrainer. Modern 2 strokes are just soooo much fun compared to the 2 strokes of the 1970's I grew up with. Invest in good knee braces. And just ride:)

Thank you for doing at least a minor review of the lighting. Some of us are really interested in how well the stock lighting works. Do you know if a Beta dealer can get the OEM directionals (with compatible wiring) in the US? That would be a bonus for those of us who pursue street legality... Also, there must be *something* that can be done to tighten up the turning radius - re-locate the upper radiator mounts further back?

Nice Bike .. I like oil injection. I never could understand how oil would still work after being diluted in the gasoline.. They say you can use less oil with injection than with premix.. Skidoo computer controlled oil injection.. Injects the oil to critical points in the engine such as the crank bearings.. The oil ratio is richer at full power and less when running at a light load.. Thus if you ride easy you use much less oil than what you use at full throttle .. Skidoo also has direct fuel injection.. which is the ultimate.. because no raw fuel goes out the exhaust ports.. Emissions way down and fuel economy way up ..

@@supergarball well, I hate downhills so much. Not that good I suppose!! And I hope they gonna change that radius in the new 2022 rr

I have to give it to you - you really went honest on BETA - Expect lots of Beta lovers hate LOL. Moreover i liked how u said that BETA factory hates when you compare it to the ORANGE bike! I don't really understand that -- if you have a good product you should not be afraid to be compared to other brands . Kudos and keep up the good work.

@@gearhigher2027 Its really weird - I don't expect Kyle will be getting another bike to test from them after this. There was lots of comparing.

@@jacobworld333 IRONICALLY I dealt with this from fellow KTM owners before I pulled the trigger and purchased the 200 RR...Hey I like KTM, but IMO they never should have got away from the 200 platform, I've rode the KTM 150, the BETA 200 RR does circles around that bike...far more user friendly. Kyle's review was accurate...

I just bought a 2001 ktm 200 with about 50 hp and I absolutely love it. 2 guys I ride with have a beta 300 and a husky 300. Both loved it and the husky guy went out looking to buy one. Absolutely love the 200's

Your KTM has 36HP, not 50HP.

Cant believe ktm stopped the 200's. Ive tested 150's and they simply dont have the grunt I need for the long technical uphills. I have a feeling they might make a 200 GasGas or Husky again when they realize how popular these are.

Exactly why I went to the Beta. My all time favorite bike was my 1998 KTM 200MXC. I held out on buying the Beta because I was hoping for them to bring back the 200. They didn’t and Beta got my money instead. Absolutely love the bike.
