carbuff81 2019’s were delivered between October 2017-July 2018, after that they become 2020. The manufacturers have a system they go by.....

In Texas, all school buses 2018 or newer must have seatbelts.

Some buses in my district had seatbelts back in the 80s but no one used them and kids would just flip them over the seats

No seatbelts. One adult in the bus. If there's a fire and you have 65 panicked children trying to get out, seatbelts would not be helpful. Especially if the driver or a child is incapacitated. School buses are extremely solid, robust and safe. Your child is very secure in a school bus without belts.

ViralJ you’re not the only one. I prefer bluebirds because they’re the most quiet, the most comfortable, and they feel more solid than all of the competition. IC used to be my favorite but I just got annoyed with IC. Too loud and felt fragile when riding one. Drivers where I’m from always fight for the new Bluebirds according to my mom who drove school buses. No wonder my parish has been buying new bluebirds for the past 4 years straight.

To be honest, Bluebirds are generally reliable, durable, long-lasting buses but, I can’t get over my dislike for their appearance. I find the design and appearance of the front-end to be atrocious. Furthermore, I don’t like the design and layout of the dash and driver’s area either. I used to love Bluebirds, back in the day when you could choose the chassis manufacturer. I think it was a better time back when the customer had the ability to choose whether they wanted their Bluebird body on an International, Freightliner, Ford, GMC or other chassis. One of my personal favorites was always a Bluebird body on an International chassis. I guess that’s why I choose the IC-CE as my favorite conventional bus in today’s bus market. I think if we still had the chance to choose which body and chassis combination we wanted, I’d still go with the Bluebird body on an International chassis. In conclusion, the BB Vision is my least favorite of the big three. My first choice in today’s buses would be, #1. IC-CE, #2. SafetyLiner C-2, #3. BB Vision. @@SwannBus our 2018/19 bluebird buses With ford V10 bolts came apart in the interior in a week only 10,000 km and they don't like extremely cold climates I like the old square body Ford's and GMC buses always handle best

I have always liked the late 1990- Early 2000 Thomas Flatnosed buses. I am really not a big fan of the new Thomas buses that sit on the new freightliner chassis. Personally I love the nice, new, modern, design of the bluebird buses. I love all international bus design better. As long as it can get the job done I don't see the issue.

My school district has always bought the Thomas Saf T Liner C2 Buses. Although they do have some Bluebird Buses, (Which I'd rather prefer to ride in) those buses, having good suspension, and smooth riding, from what I've heard, but they are more expensive than a Thomas Saf T Liner C2 Bus. I guess it would be only as a last resort for the district to have to buy a Bluebird bus. By the way, this was an interesting video you have. I left a like.

Blue Bird does not have an actual condenser for driver AC... BUT! If you turn the defrost controls to cold/driver/recirculate and turn the system on (while the AC is running) it will in fact circulate air from the bulk head unit to the dash and foot vents, blows ice cold.

These are great buses but in this day and age these buses need to have cameras all around. To spot and record drivers who bypass vehicle stop signs and children left alone on bus!

These need front and rear parking sensors and a 360 camera. They have them in tiny cars but not school buses makes no sense. They aren’t expensive to install either. Also a forward collision warning and automatic braking system should be on there too. They are still to ancient and technology isn’t anymore

That's cute - I know the guy. Back when I used to LIVE in Charles County. That hinge design came from the Thomas HDX - first one I've seen in a conventional. (Rather oddly, the HDX has had them since back to the first one I have EVER seen in 1977 - yes, they go back THAT far.)

I remember those, too. You could get any chassis with whatever boyd you wanted. Superior made one of the best bodies. Wards were nice, too. Thomas was cheap.

Blue Birds are AWESOME BUSES... Very well built... In the older models you could CHANGE THE DASH LIGHTING. Blue light blue red green white... In the new models you cant... Imma blue bird man 110%.. They build there buses very well... Great ride an handling... I hate ICS... There absolute JUNK...

You mentioned on the older bluebirds they had the light blue dash background lights. That’s actually something you can change. My district in New York runs bluebirds. I’ll have to take a video of how to change the background color on the dash. We have the propane and gas bluebirds. Much rather be in an IC.

Is the Vision optional in different floor colors? Baltimore County bought gray floors on the Thomas Saf T Liner C2s and green floors on the IC CEs. And the FS65s, Blue birds and Amtran/IC from 99-06 had green floors. And all have green seats.

Lucas Rivera no, wheel cut refers to the degree to which the wheels will turn (cut) in either direction. Bluebird and Thomas buses both have a very impressive 55 degree wheel cut or degree to which the front wheels will turn off center (straight).

that isb 2350 is rated at 200 horse, unless they have already had some one tune a county school bus. no anti short bushing for the push out switches at the em windows. go walk back on the floor at the fuel hacth and watch the seats move, because they cut the frame under that section of the bus. pull the trim back in the cab, no wire loom.. a lt of issues a couple thousand miles down the road. Cummins finally changed their belt tensioner, that should last a long time. BB changed the surge tank coolant level sensor wiring, dont know how good that is yet. surge tanks crack after about 3 years of service still..

Thomas is still my favorite but I'd take a blue bird as well.. the IC CE just doesn't look right to me... but the FS-65 still holds the top place in my heart especially with the MD-3060 and MBE 906 engine combo

There are seatbelts in most school buses. It isn't a law in NY requiring the kids to wear them. As a driver it would be impossible to monitor kids for wearing them. In our school district it is mandatory for pre-k kids to wear them and I myself require my kindergartners to wear them.
