Had to come back and watch this after seeing you get the new bike. Congrats btw. I was curious why you didn’t get the denim silver but this answered it. I guess they don’t deal across the country. I live in NJ and I could probably bet money on it my local dealer has them and that color. But that was the same situation as when you bought the iron. You had a hard time finding one and I couldn’t believe how many they had sitting around. But I will say I did get annoyed when I had my Dyna how much I was scraping pegs. I barely scrape on my sgs but I do still scrape occasionally. But we got some serious tight cambered uphill twists and a ton of decreasing radius on ramps that you can’t see the exit of. Also u turns to the right I’m pretty comfortable with putting it on the floor boards.

What would you pick between the bmw R1250R, the RS or the GS for commuting everyday? Use will be city+highway 50 miles per day.

Roberto Ramon the RS and the GS comes with adjustable windshield and some wind protection. The R doesn’t. On the R you will go through a few windshields before you find the right one

Man whatever camera you’re using Smoaks, the picture is absolutely pristine and crystal clear. Watching this on my iPad and never seen such clarity. Excellent production work here. The RS is a sporty RT. Would like to see that beautiful TFT screen on the 2020 RT, GT and GTL bikes. Nice work out there.

Congratulations Smoak on the new steed. You are correct about the experience on buying a harley. For years I've bought hondas and suzuki's and not much fun in it. Every Harley has been a wonderful experience. When I bought my 2019 ultra I'd have to say was the best experience ever and that one will be my last two wheeled motorcycle. In 10 or 15 years I might switch to a spyder. I'm getting a little long in the tooth. Stay safe and dont think to much about the new bike. It'll be here before you know it.

Congrats on the M8 Slim. Welcome to the Softail family. Glad you wanted black. The 2020’s sure have some nice new colors. I looked at the Slim but I wanted the alloy wheels when I bought my 2019 Low Rider. I think your Forty-Eight had the 2.1 gal. tank? If so, you, like me will love having the 5 gal tank and the 6th gear. (Another reason I got the Low Rider.) I hope it has an ABS option. I would not be without it. Too many Deer and Turkeys jumping out on me on my early rides. Those Softails with the 107 M8’s are just like a little rocket. You’ll have lots of smiles per mile on that thing. Happy for you both. Being retired...the thought of trading is non-existent. Wife rides her FatBoy Lo and I have my SGS. I did make her FatBoy Lo into a bagger. Moved to the coast of N.C. so we can ride pretty much year round. Be safe. Enjoy your Slim.

Congrats Shawn. I’ve been waiting to see you ride one of the M8 Softails so I’m sorry if I missed it somehow. I’m surprised enough that you’re buying the new Slim without ever sitting on one let alone without riding it first. My Heritage 114 has been fantastic for 2 years and 17,000 miles. I think you’ll have a lot of fun on the Slim. Everything in the Heritage is detachable so I strip it down often and have my own version of the Slim from time to time. Can’t wait to see your next vid.
