Sometimes it's nice to have a chilled bike.my last bike (mz baghira 660)was quiet and was great for early morning commutes or late night shenanigans without getting attention or making people upset..but to hear a motor sing is like no other...content is on point I would love some roads like that were I live.

Schaaf I saw this video one year ago, you made me buy this bike. Now after 1year and 2 weeks, with 23000km, 6 tire set used, 2 set of brake pads... I can say it's the best option comparing to all other "sport touring" bikes (F900XR, GSX1000GT, Tracer 9 GT...) tested all of them. Thanks for your content, and for making me discover this hell of a bike. Greetings!

What differences you saw between it and Suzuki GT?

@@2urbi9 suzuki gsx1000gt, way faster in high revs but suspension and brakes not at the same level and smoothness than RS. Boxer is way more enjoyable in roads like shown in the video. If i could not choose de RS i would go for tracer 9GT rather than GT. Today just ordered an M1000XR competition ;)

The engine sound gets better with additional miles on the bike. My RT has. The roll on power in 6th gear is quite good from around 80 mph, it is quite easy to end up past 100 mph when passing a car. I use mine as my primary transportation, great motorcycle. Great videos Schaaf I find yours very relaxing.

Great video, great sound! I appreciate the lack of crappy background music, just the sweet sound of the engine being ridden hard and fast. Also appreciate the lack of constant blah blah blah chatter that most bike reviewers engage in. I have a 2021 R1250RS and absolutely love it. I mostly ride it in town or short local rides, and for my very short work commute (2 miles). The bike is so nimble in town, but I love to get out on local back roads or short interstate jaunts to wind it out and enjoy that shift cam engine. I have not yet gotten into the mountains with it. I did ride an R1250RT in Italy and Austria last year with my wife as passenger. Loved it. It's a bit heavier than the RS, but very comfortable with my wife riding with me. I believe she may have rebelled if we were riding 2-up on the RS. My other bike is a 2018 K1600GTL. It is a bit heavier for in town, but a dream for long distance touring and mountain roads. The engine is so sweet and the quick-shifter is like buttah! If I had to have only 1 bike, it would be the RT, but having the RS and the GTL is the best solution for me.

Very good review Schaaf. I have watched a few reviews about the R 1250 RS and still think if I had the money, which I don`t! I would put R1250R handlebars on it, move the GPS above the TFT screen and have the Exclusive in blue. I really do struggle to understand why this model is not the most popular of the four choices! OH well , we are all different. ride safe.

I've test ridden the R, RS and GS. The R feels the most agile but lacks wind protection (so far so obvious). The RS feels longer and bigger and the cockpit is pants. The GS is a happy medium - good weather protection, but comfortable and the visibility is brilliant in traffic or riding fast. I used to think the RS was the goldilocks model but it wasn't for me.

Great video. I can see I'm not the only one who loves that bike. But mine does not drift while breaking. In case you didn't know, the front and the rear brakes are combined and balanced. So if you press the brake pedal you can easily block the rear wheel. Also the speed sensation when you see this video is astonishing. And the shift sound is impressive. Better seen it than driving yourself. At least more relaxing. You even hear a whistle when you cross near other bikes. Best regards.

Great video, awesome how you can make someone feel involved in your riding. I'm currently on a Superduke V3 and and even though I love it I'm thinking that maybe it's time to move to something more confortable (I'm 54 and sometimes I ache after longer rides). Do you think this RS would fit ? Would I be missing the ferocious torque of the KTM ? I'll test ride it soon but I'd like to have your impressions. Thanks ✌
@GaryCrumrine Жыл бұрын
I think you are going to find the RS is in a class of it's own. Not quite as harsh as a true sport bike, but able to hang in there with them is pushed. I have a few more years on my body and still enjoy it. Also have a new RT that I take on longer tours. I do not ride aggressively either bike. I bought my RT a little over a year ago and found it a bit top heavy. I dropped it a couple of times due to not having the strength in my legs to keep it up at a stop. So I purchased an RS just to get to a point where I got more familiar with it then transition back to the RT when I felt better able to handle it. It has worked. But that RT is a handful. At 68 I should have thought it through more. Definitely take one for a ride though. I have 14 years on you and things change as you approach 70 years old
@giovanniricci2869 Жыл бұрын
@@GaryCrumrine Wow sir, really thank you for having taken the time to provide me this insight. I eventually purchased the RS back in April and I just passed 15000 km, with a few longer trips. Having a bit more background on the bike, I indeed agree with you and I can say it’s fulfilling my expectations. Concerning the RT, I can very well see your point: that bike or its successors will definitely be in my future. Thank you and best wishes for the new year ✌️

This has got to be one of my All-Time favorite KZbin videos! Especially since I own an RS myself. I like how you demonstrate braking hard before turning, then trail-braking as necessary. Also nice to see, and hear, is how you feather the throttle frequently. Some other riders are binary; either “full boil” or braking/coasting. A couple of questions: Do you use the rear brake pedal at all or only the handbrake, which takes care of the integrated brake system? Any idea of the maximum lean angle before scraping starts of either stand or foot pegs? Keep up the great riding and stay safe!
@Schaaf2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I use the rear brake only for stabilising the bike when riding at slow speeds. In this video I was indeed only using the front brake. I unfortunately don't know about the exact lean angle
@mp21402 жыл бұрын
I have reached 50-54 degree angles and that's when you start scrapping the cylinder heads, depending on a road profile sooner or later. Luckily i have protective covers. The central stand does not touch the ground at any time.

Damn! You got skills bro! How do you ride a bike with those massive balls?!

Thanks man. My ballsy days are long gone though ;)

Hey man! When I hear the skidding is it because you are braking hard or is it the shaft drive power?

Hard braking

That sound is amazing! As allí boxer engines! How windscreen protection feels? Maybe my next bike... But I'm in doubt about wind protection... I have now an África Twin, but I don't go off road... So I'm thinking in this one or the gs 1250... Thanks!

wind protection is very good on the RS

I have just bought a Tracer900 and on roads of this type it is a true fairy tale. An engine that drives from low revs and allows a good extension. I have some problems in the 180 corners :-( but i'm working on to do the best

Great Video and very nice sound. Compared to the S1000XR, which one do you prefer?

I think pointing at oncoming motorcycles is more aerodynamic than waving or a victory sign.
