X5m is my fav bmw. Funny bmw suvs are becoming more of drivers cars than their sedans....

The people who complain about reliability with cars like this never purchased them new, got extended warranties and made sure to keep them properly maintained. I know plenty of guys on the BMW forums with M vehicles above 100k without issues. I'm loving my 2019 M5 and 2020 X7. And I'd trade the X7 for a new X5 M if I didn't require the 3rd row. 😁

@J CR nice and crazy because I'm getting a Ram 1500 Limited for work and yard hobbies. Those are some nice trucks. Check online ordering tho. I'm set to get $7500 off mine. Could get $10k if I wasn't so color conscious. 🙄😅

Im sold! The intended buyer: young, values practicality out of a vehicle, with a ton of cash burning in his pocket, wants the coolest version of anything they buy. I currently drive a 4Runner TRD Pro, but the fam complains about the seat comfort a lot.

Nice review! I came across it searching for videos of Tanzanite Blue II X5s. I love the X5M. If I hit the lottery I'll get one, lol. I'm picking up my special order '21 M50i in this same color next week. It's almost as fast but less $$. I have a '14 X5 that has been a great car. No problems with it...but got the extended warranty anyway.

Wrong buddy, it is a tune in track mode that gives you the extra HP. The M and the M comp have the same exact dual spilt (4 exhaust pipes) exhaust and adjustable electronic flap open close button on the console, right next to the same M mode button. I know because I own a 2021 X5M. An extra 8K for 17hp and a tenth of a second faster 0-60. Basically no difference.

Hey MotoMan I know this is from last year and I had missed the video this car/SAV whatever name is really beautiful and the color combination is the best I’ve seen, the performance levels that they are putting in them is mind boggling, BMW, Mercedes, Audi and the higher end Lamborghini and Bentley should be doing the performance numbers that they are capable of....they defy logic! If you have the means to buy or lease one you get practical and press you through the seats torque, not bad for a 5000lb beast! The engine sound is definitely up there with the best performance cars!

This X5 M is gorgeous for sure. I don't know who is copying whom, but Mercedes and BMW come out with so many similar cars, options and prices. They must have spies in each others' design rooms. For example, the new Mercedes GLE 350 entry is about $55,000....and the top AMG is $130,000. Benz also has a metallic blue and interior with white and gray leather. Top Benz AMG is about 600hp, just this one. List goes on.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the same engine as in last gen M5 and X5M? They might just have updated it a little and added a few more hp. If so, its not the first time they use it in a SUV.

The people who claim these are reliable crack me up. Any BMW owner from the last 20 years or so can tell you all about oil pan/oil filter housing/valve cover gasket replacements, blower motor replacements, window regulators regularly failing, water pumps failing at 60k miles, electrical shorts, fuel pump failures, xDrive faults, sagging air suspension, and on and on. The normal wear n' tear items are to be expected - tires, brakes, fluid flushes, etc - that's all to be expected. No one buys these things expecting Lexus reliability, but they don't buy them thinking they have glass jaws that require 4k/year to keep running.

I'm the intended buyer of one of these. I'll get out of my current X5 lease and get into one of these in a couple years. Something to consider: would love to see maybe a segment within the review of a separate video where you compare the relative value of this compared to rivals, based on price, quality, performance, etc.

Again, your wrong, staggered wheels 21 and 22” on the X5M and same sport exhaust. Also, soft door close is not extra on M vehicles. You need to do your research on the X5M before your video, because the only difference in the M and M comp is 17HP in track mode, striped seatbelts, black exterior accents package and competition badging. I’ve owned both.
