I have the natural dipped leather interior on my LT3. The glare is bad but I have gotten use to it. People who drive it for the first time notice the glare at first but once they start driving they tend to forget about it. So In my eyes it’s not to big of a deal. Grate video.

This video is very helpful as I am about to order a Riptide Blue 2LT. I was staying away from the Sky Cool Gray interior because of the issue you mentioned with the GT2 seats. I didn't realize the GT1 seats don't have the same optics issue. 👏🏾

I have a LB Red 3LT Z51 with Natural Dipped interior, GT3 Comp seats, transparent roof. Love the interior. There is glare but you do t notice it after a while. Very bright and airy inside. But getting in and out you need to be careful not to kick the door and leave a mark. Treated the leather with ColorLloc so we will see how that works. It’s very rich look and with the LB Red it is quite stunning.

one thing that i did that really helped was, i had the front windshield tinted with a very small amount of darkness. just enough to keep the glare down.

But I ordered recently, my c8 should be here mid March. I ordered a 3LT convertible, rapid blue with carbon flash top, blacks wheels, red calipers, performance exhaust, and natural dipped suede interior.

I'm about to place my order and I'm torn on the interior color. I love the natural dipped tan interior, but the glare I think would drive me slightly crazy. I called my sales rep for my build yesterday and asked if there was any way to get the natural dipped tan BUT have a black dash. I'm honestly surprised that you can't do this because this has to be something people would opt for. I never really noticed or payed attention to dashes before this ordering process but if you look at many luxury cars like BMW they'll have tan interiors but their dashes are still black. It seems a relatively easy fix for GM as they'd essentially just need two dash pieces to be black. The one right over the steering wheel and the other the dash on the passenger side. Does anyone know if this could somehow be done aftermarket? I'd really be interested to see how it looks. I would absolutely get the natural dipped tan if it wasn't for the glare.

Thanks for the great video! I really love the look of the natural dippped interior on the 3LT. However, your point on reflections has me thinking. First off, I plan on going with the convertible and going topless frequently. I have owned convertibles with both Black and Tan interiors. Black gets so hot in sunny climates(Colorado has over 300 sunny days a year) that even with cooled seats it is not as cool as light colored interiors. I wonder if there are any dash treatments short of placing a cover over the dash to help reduce reflections. Another commenter talked about a light tint on the windshield, not sure about any reduced visibility going that route. I realize that the black interiors hold up the best, but I just cannot stand the heat and love the look of an all light colored interior.

Thanks! I do all my own video editing except for that intro. My buddy paid someone online to do it. Not bad for $35. I think he used FIVERR which offers online freelance work. Very simple too. He just gave the guy my youtube channel name and said to make an intro. The guy then just looks over the channel and screen records some clips from your videos and comes up with something cool. Then he just sends you a link to download it after its made. Quick, easy, and convenient.

Colored seats also show age leather wrinkles and jeans discolor them. I learned that with torch red seats.

i have a lot of reflection from my black dash on my C6. only reason is because i keep my window and dash so clean. small price to pay for keeping a car clean.

That can happen with some black dashes especially if you put any kind of product on it that makes it shiny. Most manufacturers have shifted to making black dashes that have a rubberized matte finish which reduces almost all of the reflection . Thanks for watching.

I noticed the same issue when I was getting ready to order my car. Once I found that I could put the black in the center of the sky Cool gray colored colored seats, that's exactly what I did. Like you said yourself, that solves the problem. Anyway, nice vlog. Thanks.

I was thinking about that and I may have to make an effort to find a car to sit in to make a determination. I did want a 3LT tan interior. I want to get the carbon fiber 2 interior which takes out some area from being the tan color which is not a problem with the 3LT. Can't get the 2LT as that would be a problem as only the seats would be left as tan. Plus no carbon fiber 2 option with the 2LT. I have had two cars before that were red with tan interiors but had brown dashes. I had heard of the perforation issue before. I hate to think I will have to go with a black interior.

yeah, black is the safest bet but doesn't look as premium. 13k Mike's on mone with sky cool gray and still looks brand new. keep in mind I rarely wear jeans in the car. mostly dress slacks for work or shorts...

@@jrock702 I wonder if there would be any way you could special order a 3LT interior and get those three pieces on the dash done in black. I would want the carbon fiber 2 option which would eliminate the thin pieces of tan that would then be the carbon fiber. In 1989 I bought a new 911 Porsche with a tan interior that was door panels and seats that color but ALL the dash was black. I special ordered a band of tan through were the radio is and it added enough color to tie it together which is what you would have in the 3LT with tan on the bottom of the dash.

Have done extensive research since first viewing your video. On the Corvette forum some have said wearing polarized sunglasses can reduce glare considerably. It has also been reported that certain colors of polarized lenses (think it was brown?) are even more effective at reducing glare. Really, really want the natural dipped look but I do live in the mountains of Colorado and it is exceptionally sunny and very intense sunlight nearly all the time! Want to figure a workaround.

Well, black would have the least reflection. I have a 2lt with the sky cool gray interior and love it though. If you go with 2lt and a light colored interior, only a small portion of the dash is light colored. There is a small amount of reflection but tht is fine with me. I love the contrast of the 2tone.

natural tan available in 2lt and 3lt. Natural tan dipped with suede accents only available in 3lt trim. Not sure what the code is though. Select 3lt trim on chevy.com go to colors, scroll down to interior color. Natural dipped is there. Thanks for watching...

Havent had any stain issues from jeans or anything yet. Nothing I've touched in the interior has left any marks or stained. so far the only jeans I've worn I've had for awhile and have been washed many times though. I've had the car for about 6 months and have 4k miles on it. So far so good. Love the sky cool gray interior. Thanks for commenting. This woulld be a good video topic as alot of people are concerned about how well a light colored interior holds up on the c8. Might make one soon. Stay tuned.

Love the new red mist! Can't wait to see that color in person in the sunlight! Love my sky cool gray interior. The refection doesn't bother me a bit. I would go with this same color again for sure. If your are getting the GT2 seats (standard with the 3lt I think) with sky cool gray I would recommend opting for the 2 tone seats that have black in the middle. The hole pattern in the GT2 seats give a very odd dirty appearance when getting a light color seat if you don't get the black inserts. Trust me on this one! Luckily with my GT1 seats the hole pattern is different and with it all light color (no 2 tone) it looks perfect! I hope this helps!

Thanks for the video; I found it by accident but the information is invaluable. A light colored dash is a NO NO. Since my order is a 2LT it's not a problem. I believe you are absolutely right about the GT2 seats in cool gray; go with the GT1 seats. I live in Florida, imagine the glare!

I have a 3LT, natural dipped, GT2 seats. I like the the natural dipped, but there IS reflection. For me, the HUD is outlined in black and I like the look. The right side of the dash is black, towards the window, and has very little reflection. I’ve driven for more than 2500 miles and I am very comfortable with the reflection, but it takes some getting used to. The seats really don’t look dirty to me, so that is a non-issue. I would highly recommend finding a friend or dealer who has a lighter color dash and sitting in the driver’s seat on a sunny 🌞 day. Maybe buy a tan colored bath towel, cut a rectangular hole in it for the HUD, if you have one, and try that on the dash. Just a thought.😄

I got a 2LT with an adrenaline red interior with 1GT seats and knew all that for thirteen months I had to wait for it. The red on the dash looks like you have gun sights on the C8 and 1GT seats heated and cooled with with lumbar and bolster make them a premium seat at a base seat price! If you want the 2GT seats get the 3LT trim where they come with the C8 at no extra charge!

3LT has nothing to do with a car interior being too bright. Your color choices can though. You can still get a 3LT with an all black interior.
