2020 Colorado Shudder ?!?!

Brief little video about my experience with the infamous transmission shudder on my 2020 Colorado.
As stated in the video, it started to happen pretty often and became progressively worse at roughly 10,000 Miles/16,000KM Between various speeds but most commonly between 75-88 Kmh or 45mph to 55 ish. The truck would typically be on for about an hour before it really becomes noticeable.
The dealer mentioned that typically if a trans shudder is suspected they typically do a fluid flush. Apparently the fluid keeps the torq converter clutch cool which stops it from burning out or causing this intermittent on/off.
During hard acceleration the truck would seem like it fumbled up gears catching it for a moment and then finally locking into the gear.

My 2018 Colorado had the same issue, they did a complete transmission flush, so far so good! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I have a 2020 as well with the same shudder issue you have. An independant auto mechanic told me it was a torque convertor issue so i took it to my local GM as it will be a warranty claim. GM changed the fluid in the transmission and said the shudder went away. Not sure how they would know with only 2km put on the truck from when i brought it in and when i picked it up...lol. Anyways. The day after i got it back, the shudder is still there, so now i get to take it back. I will definitely mention that they should be checking the actual torque convertor.

Had no shudder on my 2019 but got it flushed 3x (my personal preference) and I've put 48,000 miles on it since the flush with no issues.

Sounds like you did the same thing as me. When you first noticed it you just ignored it and hoped it would go away.

Hi, thanks for the video - I'm considering buying a 2022. You have another general Colorado review video where you said even after flushes and all, the shudder always comes back but maybe the issue you had was really torque converter and not the same that is fixed with flushing the transmission? Is your truck still running strong? Thanks!

2018 gmc canyon 88k miles with moderate shudder. Added Instant Shudder Fix (2 tubes) and so far no shudder! A $20 fix. Cant imagine what the dealer charged you😮

I bought my 2020 Canyon with 49K. Now has 52K and has in the last few hundred miles developed the shudder to a very noticeable degree. Thinking back, it might have been happening for a while longer. I'm still well under the 60K drive train warranty, so getting this fixed now is on GM. I have an appointment set in two days for a transmission service but will talking with a delaer service adviser before that to note my issue and the known history of which it is an example. We'll see how it goes.

Except this one at 435 Hp...5 years and wacked once. $18 Grand to fix it. Only 39K after 5 years as it is my Daily Drive. My BowTie makes a V-8 look silly off the line. Sporty cars too. Tuners are the best to meet at the next set of lights as mine was 2 car lengths ahead. If your Mechanic can't find a why? Try another one. Or ship the Truck to ZR Performance here in Calgary Alberta. Ask for Less Wells.

Bad drivetrain ? 8 speed suspect for years ? More than One Issue ? Did GM shave weight to increase mileage figures ? Denying problem is easier than fixing or a massive recall ? 🤔

Having the same problem with my 2019 Colorado. Just had it in and they replaced the valve body per GM. Fixed the shudder problem but now when transmission gears down when I come to a stop, it knocks real hard. Taking it back again
