Hopefully people keep buying the manual... If not they will phase it out eventually.. They hanged on to the manual pick up trucks until last year (on the diesel with the cummins option) but now it will be just automatic :( I know manuals will die out eventually but hopefully not for a while longer.. I love the Challenger. I drove one for a week on a trip, and I drove it for about 300 ish miles per day (3-6 hours of mixed highway and city driving). At first I was really disapointed with the (IMO) ugly interior with extremely low amounts of storage for such a big and heavy car. Also, the steering lag and lack of power made me question the slight extra I was paying to rent this over the medium sized SUV I had reserved (I rented the 3.6L V6 one, it was the one they had). But as the miles and the days went by, I completely fell in love with it. Of course it was slow, and the steering felt super numb, but as TH said, that is part of the charm. On the highway it felt super stable at about 100 mph (as fast as I dare to go on roads that I don't know, specially with cops around), and while the throttle wasn't particularly exciting, it still has 305 hp on the rear wheels which can still be a bit fun. But the thing that me love it entirely was just how ridiculous a car like that feels. It has no interior space to put your phone down, the little cubbyhole in the armrest fills up with just the usb cable in it, good luck trying to get two medium-large sized suitcases on the trunk, no power, and slow steering; and yet, I couldn't wait to get on it and just go for a drive! It makes absolutely no sense, but I want one. It just made me smile all day long, and that is what a good car should do.

Thanks for that very fun, enjoyable review! I originally thought the "F8" paint color related to the Fujita Tornado scale... you know how the sky often turns a greenish color before a tornado strikes... but apparently that scale only goes from F0 to F5, so I was wrong. I think it would have been cooler if they had named it F5 for that reason. Gotta love Dodge for continuing to build these beasts! Everybody gives them a hard time for keeping them around for SO long, but you can't argue with success. They're still selling like crazy - even with the stupid-high prices. They are definitely the last of the true "muscle cars".

F8 green is actually an OG challenger color from the late 60’s/early 70’s. That’s why

Took my 18 hellcat widebody challenger on a 950mi road trip from Texas to South Dakota. It was a great grand tourer with gobs of power. Outside of the city in Kansas through Nebraska I actually made 23 mpg with cruise control set at 70-75. A scatpack or cat, you can't go wrong. I would never do that trip in a camaro or stang. Having owned both a 17 charger scatpack and a 16 challenger scatpack, when I got my charger I missed the retro gauges and seating position of the challenger. The challenger just seemed to suit me better. Upgraded to a challenger hellcat widebody in 18, the first year they offered a widebody and never looked back. I will be updating to a 23 as soon as orders open up and as long as I can get a good deal I will be getting a red eye widebody. After 23 they are done and so am I with new dodge vehicles. It's been one hell of a run.

I’m on my third consecutive new Mustang GT manual as my daily...each time I came within 3.5 inches of buying a Challenger instead. This video has brought back that familiar feeling of regret. What a fun, mean, badass coupe.

"They do all look similar" I love that about the Challenger. I'm a mustang type of guy, and I wish to god I could get a mustang with the same style as a Shelby gt500 but with the power and cost of a GT or Bullitt. Not super into racing or power, but the aesthetic of the Shelby is awesome. The Challenger nails its look in every model. So if you just want the Challenger for its looks, you can get the lower end for 30k or so.

Watching this with my 2020 Charger Widebody Scat Pack parked in the driveway hella proud - no way it handles better cuz this Charger scoots so easily but that Sport Mode downshift into 1st gear at a light is amazing

Spent a lot of time with one of these, a couple years. Not a widebody.. but the challenger handles better than you expect it to, its one you have to learn and gain confidence in before you can push it to its limit really because of its weight. But when pushing it hard around corners after a year or so of owning it, i was able to out handle my 3 years owned jb4 stage 3 tune 335i through a twisty road by 5.3 seconds. Challenger is actually very under rated on its handling, wish I still had mine but a woman hit me and totaled it ;(
