I traded in my F-150 for the 2020 Gold Ford Edge. I love the car. I’ve had it for four years now and got it right when they came out. Mine also came winterized because they have to be in Alaska. It does great in snow and ice. Drove it from Alaska took the Alcan highway through Canada to all the way to Oregon. I had my two dogs, my son, and my significant other with me. I put a roof rack on the top for our luggage. Now, I want to put a tow package on it because we take it camping all the time and a little boat would be nice.😂

Nice ride. I traded my 2018 Mustang GT Premium PP1, for a 2020 EDGE ST. FYI: No heated steering wheel, unless you have the 'Cold weather package'. Also, there is an auto high beam, too :)

Thanks. You're right about the steering wheel. I guess it makes sense lol, I don't really have a need for it in Florida, though I do want to buy winter mats just because. I'm liking the car a lot so far. It's comfortable and quiet and refined. Obviously no substitute for the power of my Challenger or your Mustang though

12” vertical screens are on all 2021 Edge models
@VanquishedAgain3 жыл бұрын
Good to know. I got mine for a big discount before the 2021s were available mine was built in December of 2020 so maybe one of the last 2020s built lol. I'm not sure what you can get a 2021 for but over the summer of 2020 the ST was listing pretty close to sticker (52k). I wouldn't pay 52k for this car. It's nice inside and looks great but the power is really nothing to write home about. It's quick for sure but it doesn't feel quick, very little excitement thanks to the lack of noise and weird transmission setup. It's still the only midsize sport suv in the price range but...

@@VanquishedAgain Congrats! Double check the driver side inner door label panel….if it was built in Dec 2020 that should be a 2021 model year. Usually production ends in July/August for current year and new/next year’s model starts production build.

Most cars have a button to turn the auto dimming feature off. If you have tinted windows the auto dimming feature makes it very hard to see other cars at night.

What transmission does the edge st have?
@VanquishedAgain3 жыл бұрын
Mine has an 8 speed. I saw something that maybe the 2021 had a 7 speed? Yes the 2021 had a 7 speed. If I had known that I might have gotten the 2021. Actually no I wouldn't. They still aren't in any dealers anywhere close to me which means they would have been sticker price, I definitely wouldn't pay 52k+ for the edge st
@JohnC686 Жыл бұрын
The 21 and up have the same transmission. Ford just programmed out the 2-3 or 3-4 shift, I can't remember which.

Nothing competitive in the price point?? Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Audi q5.
@VanquishedAgain3 жыл бұрын
Neither of those are in the price point of the edge ST. And the Q5 (probably stelvio too) is way smaller than the edge in cargo/passenger capacity. Find me a fully loaded Q5 for 41k. I'll wait. You might be able to find a stelvio (doubtful) for that price but I wouldn't touch that brand with a 10 foot pole anymore. They're going to be closed down very soon
@climbbike12343 жыл бұрын
@@VanquishedAgain I just ask because I’m considering all three now. A fully loaded q5 would be more but the Ford Edge fully loaded is over $50k. You can get a close to loaded Stelvio for that price. What I like about the edge is it’s setup to tow. Did you ever find the heated steering button? Guessing it didn’t have it for the price you paid though I think I read its standard for 2021 now.
@VanquishedAgain3 жыл бұрын
@@climbbike1234 I paid 41k for the edge ST (including taxes). I would never spend 52k on this. But I also wouldn't spend 52k on a stelvio. I looked at the stelvio and it wasn't anything special. It's weird because neither the stelvio or q5 are anywhere near the edge ST in power but the edge is much larger so it makes sense that they have similar 0-60 times. None of them are actually sport SUVs though. If that's what your looking for, you're gonna be disappointed. These little twin turbo engines really suck for feel.
@VanquishedAgain3 жыл бұрын
@@climbbike1234 I just spec'd out a Q5 and it's almost 57k sticker for similar specs to my Edge ST (though my edge looks way sportier with the 21 inch wheels). Its all personal preference. I'd find the 5.7s 0-60 of the Q5 pretty suspect considering it has over 100 lb-ft less torque and almost 80HP less. It does way 400lbs less though. If I could have got a fully loaded Q5 for the price I bought the edge st I would have considered it but there were none anywhere close to that price. I'll be interested to see how the 2021 Edge ST 0-60 is because they apparently removed 2nd gear which should significantly improve the 0-60 time imo. I think the edge ST would do 5-5.1 seconds given the power it has. 5.7 (which is about the best you can get unmodified) is underperforming for the specs. Half a second could easily be gained by removing a shift. (Supposedly the 2021a have the same transmission that they just used software to "delete" the 2nd gear)
