This is my dream car had my eye on it I currently own a 2012 ford fusion sport awd. I could use the upgrade I'll wait another year so I can get a deal on one with low miles with a massive price cut. Awesome review made me even more hyped!!!!

James!! A 2012 Fusion! When you're ready to jump into an ST you'll love it so much in comparison. I really like your idea on waiting for a low mile one to become available. Have to say that it is super rare to come across that though ;) but if you're patient timing is everything It could even be worth it to check lease transfer websites and keep an eye out for a bargain! Glad you loved the review as well!

Nice review. Just some advice- use a lower mm camera lens for the interior shots. That way the viewers can see you and what you showing them. Your head gets cut off on some shots on you in the back seat as well as you in the back of the vehicle. So if you're using a 70mm lens, use a 55mm. or if you're using a 55mm use a 35mm.

Thanks for the tips! When I shot this it was just on a Samsung s9+ and I was so new to angles, lens, aperture.. and the importance of good audio haha. How things have changed! I have a kit lens for a Panasonic G7 now but will look into some different lenses. Really appreciate the feedback.. it's how I get better

Good review. You never mentioned the Auto button on the HVAC system. I always keep Auto on, covers >95% of all heat and AC needs. My ST is a 2019, virtually an identical vehicle.

@@CarsWithSteve Steve, I had another thought, this probably applies to all Ford vehicles. On the Edge ST, you can use the paddle shifters in D. The transmission shifts as commanded, but will revert to regular Drive shifting when you stop manually shifting. For instance, you’re in D, and approach a freeway on ramp. A few quick manual downshifts to negotiate the curving ramp. As you accelerate and stop using the paddles, it acts normally, shifting gears automatically. When in S mode, the transmission will shift automatically, but if you use the paddles, you’ll have to use them until you go back to Drive. Is you forget that, and come to a stop, the car won’t automatically downshift. You’ll have to manually downshift to start up from a lower gear.
@CarsWithSteve3 жыл бұрын
@@CrazyPetez For ones with the "S" mode that is bang on so thanks for sharing that as well! I'll have to put together a video going over using the paddle shifters. Really appreciate you pointing it out!

I got excited at 0:33 you showed the digital driver side display of the explorer not the edge you reviewed. I was hoping the 2020 edge had that upgrade 😔
@CarsWithSteve4 жыл бұрын
Ah the digital dash in the intro! Wish Ford would bring that over to the Edge lineup.. which I'm sure we'll see when it gets a facelift in the next few years. Once this thing goes electric/hybrid the look is probably going to be incredible!

Can you tell me what's the difference between firm ware and soft ware? And the Door key pad code, is that for when you get the keys locked out of the vehicle you can use the code to get into the vehicle to retrieve the keys? Is that in case you locked the keys in the car by accident? Use the door key pad to get in it. I hope I'm making sense. lol!!
@CarsWithSteve4 жыл бұрын
Firmware is a form of software. It offers low level control for specific hardware in a device whereas software is designed to perform a specific task. To be honest, you'll never have a customer ask you that question. Best to keep it simple for folks and say that Automatic Updates will allow for the vehicle software to be updated (with the exception of factory navigation on Sync3) And yes to the door keypad code! You can use the 5 digit factory code or create your own to access the vehicle without the key fob.

Ford has a defective on/off feature, it may blow the trans sensor and causing fluid to poor on the exhaust system possibly causing a fire
@CarsWithSteve2 жыл бұрын
Has there been a recall on it or is just on a personal vehicle?
@learleywells44984 жыл бұрын
Wow!! That's way too much in that vehicle to remember! So, when you press Trip, does that mean it gives the miles you went on that trip? And the "Auto stop and start " button. Can you imagine taking the back roads home from work? You'll be stopping at every intersection and it will cut off. :)
@CarsWithSteve4 жыл бұрын
You'll get it eventually! The more and more you talk about it and learn the features the more it will stick! Just wait until you get into F150s :P Trip counter is based on your total trip until you reset the counter. As for start/stop it doesn't turn off the engine all the time. You typically have to be stopped for at least a few seconds before it turns off and it won't turn off all the time

Steve, any info about headlights? Is that LED and adaptive?
@CarsWithSteve3 жыл бұрын
Hey Arman! The headlamps are LED and in the ST the taillamps are as well. They have an auto highbeam and an auto setting to switch between daytime and nighttime lamps however the Edge doesn't have headlamps that offer dynamic bending
@armanmal3 жыл бұрын
@@CarsWithSteve Thanks a lot Steve, that's quite disappointing. I have checked lots of reviews for Edge ST and you know what? Lincoln Nautilus reserve 2.7, the same thing as the Edge more luxury features has a very lucrative market value, almost the same price as Edge ST. Would you recommend it?
@CarsWithSteve3 жыл бұрын
@@armanmal The Nautilus does have much more of a luxurious feel compared to the Edge. If you're after the dynamic bending headlamps the Nautilus has that available in the Ultimate Package which also includes 21" tires, LED fog lamps and a 19 speaker sound system If you've got the budget for it, it is worth checking out the Nautilus. Having said that if the dynamic bending lights aren't important and you're after power at a good price the Edge ST is an excellent option. It has the option for the heated/cooled front seats, panoramic sunroof and it has the same 2.7L engine as the Lincoln

I must have gotten a bad one, mine is 2019 but my 2015 Edge Sport was slightly quicker so this is no beast :(
@CarsWithSteve4 жыл бұрын
So that's an interesting thing to compare.. Going car to car.. the 2015 is 315hp/350lbs torque vs 2019 at 335hp/380lbs torque. The 2019 is 70lbs heavier as well. On top of that the final drive ratio in the 2015 is 3.80 vs the 2019 at 3.39. That difference in final drive could explain why it feels like it accelerates faster.. but it shouldn't be as noticeable because of the higher toque. I'd take it into the shop and get it looked at while it's still under warranty. Have you tried running a higher octane fuel in the car at all?
