I'M NOT REALLY an SUV person. I actually prefer Wagons, but when I was done with this Ford Everest, honestly, I didn't wanna give it back. First-off, it's a bona-fide 4x4, really, it has 4WD High & Low gearing, and Terrain Response to boot, so yes, you can take this behemoth off-road (within reason of course) anytime you want to.
Using a Torque-On-Demand (TOD) 4WD system under normal circumstances, the Everest is able to split 213Ps and 500Nm between all four wheels at any given time. The driver is also able to manually lock the front and rear differentials via a button on the centre console, or go into 4x4 Low when the terrain becomes too rough.
Acceleration is simply phenomenal for something this huge, and make no mistake the Everest is a BIG mutha, a full-size 7-seater. Perhaps its only downfall is its price, which comes in at a hefty RM258,888 for this Titanium variant, while the Trend variant costs RM228,888.
But I'll say this, you get what you pay for. Granted there are many SUVs out there to be had for this kind of money, but hand on heart, you seriously need to check the Everest out. If you're shopping for a proper large 7-seater SUV, this thing has to be on your shortlist.

As someone who had grew up in the older gen Ford Everest. This SUV is a beast! Easy to climb mountain with 8 family members in it, can go fast when needed for emergency. Can haul a lot of stuff too! with 2.0 Turbo engine compared to the previous 2.5 Turbo, should be affordable for semenanjung too for the roadtax. Yeah this car went offroad easily too even when it is in 2WD

Your damn right about the whole "after driving an SUV you won't wanna drive another passenger car" thing. I've been used to driving mpvs and crossovers so when I first tried a proton Gen2 the pedal position and the seating position is so unnatural, instead of your legs bending down they go straight

Agreed with you with the "once driven SUV you wont get back to sedan" In my own experience from shifting from 01' Cefiro 3.0 to 04' X-Trail 2.5, the driving position and the practicality is such big difference although the power did lose out ALOT... previously did think of getting another sedan like Inspira and then i came across my current car... No regrets for day2day usage... Driving a sedan still feels good just that feeling something just missing... or should i say SUV just something more than a car

Drove many SUV's, still love the sedans - for stability and speed! 🤭. But seriously, Ford Everest screams muscles and masculinity. It is luxurious and a charm to drive but their after sales and service is a let down. But if I have lots of money to spend, I'd definitely get one. At this price range, one can get the latest Toyota Harrier too that comes with lots of safety features and has a very good resale value 😁. But 500Nm on the Everest, it is addictive with pure pleasure. And thanks for the review dude - couldn't find any other from Malaysia. 👍

Currently mine overheats and an independent workshop trying to top overhaul it. Hope I could source parts for it lol, but I really like this Everest. you're correct about going fast when merging to highways... usually those road tortoises don't care about another vehicle speeding.. because they just as they are slow, they are automatically the safest bunch at the road..(in their minds) Another gripe with these road tortoises, they so slow even NOT bothered to stop completely at intersection.especially that intersection does not have any traffic lights. I personally been hit 3 times at rear, riding MOTORCYCLE. When they exiting recklessly at intersection, they just slowly creeps out.I don't want to imagine if a speeding container truck behind them. poor that truck driver need to suddenly slow down his vehicle as quickly as possible.. Sometimes it's not the fault of the distributor/dealer. If they can promote BMW so well, it shows they actually have the ability and "know-how" to market any franchise brand that they are distributing. Don't forget, Sime Darby distributes motor vehicles all over the ASEAN region in various markets and numerous brands. So I would think they know the automotive business quite well. Much has to do with manufacturer support. For any manufacturer to provide support, it depends on the market size and consumers' purchasing power. I am sure the manufacturers have volume targets set for all their distributors/dealers globally. However, local market conditions, government tax regime or infrastructure support throws very different "sidewinders" into the whole equation.

This isna dying breed in Malaysia, options are either this Everest or a Fortuner. That's the real comparison, weather 5 or 7 seats its not important. Its how it makes you feel and definitely due to the tax, this is so far out of reach from the masses. I stand by that if getting an SUV, get proper ladder on frame SUV not the new soft-roaders that honestly are a cheat of an experience for the money. Ladder on frame gives toughness (solid safety), visibility, power to perform, space to carry anything and for macho for a guy. But not forgetting paint it black and bit of chrome fittings, its no better than a Lexus RX350 or Mercedes GLS. Its just sad and mad its so expensive!!! Aaaaaahhhh

Discuss about PARTS AVAILABILITY. All models of kind of brand with the kind of models but NOT ALL kind of parts are available. How is that? We can have it all, as long as you have the guts to have one expensive car. The parts is one important thing.
@ChrisWeevilGarage
@ChrisWeevilGarage 3 жыл бұрын
@@mariamarakino3693 interesting point, yes, some parts are "ready stock" and some have to be ordered, this is the same for every carmaker. They will not have every single part or component that can make a whole car, it makes no sense to keep stock of rarely changed items, cos of factors like space and money. Mostly regular wear and tear items are kept in stock, but if something that usually doesn't break, does, very likely they have to order it from overseas and that takes time, and it's the amount of time that's usually the issue. Dude an "ISSUE" spreading with this SUV. Try watching and read comments about 4x4 biturbo in Philippines. They say (from the owners mouth) its like a small engine with steroids. So the outcome, Bi turbos will put a lot of stress in a small 2liter engine and end up by an EARLY wear and tear in some parts of it. Much better if Ford did a 2.5 - 2.8 liter engine (with bi turbo)
@ChrisWeevilGarage
@ChrisWeevilGarage 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback bud, yeah, but not just this model, ALL small forced-induction engines are highly-stressed units, regardless of body config. This actually started to happen way back in late 90s, and not just for continental models, but Japanese ones too. I think it's a known issue tbh, since cars aren't made to last a lifetime anymore, unlike older cars from the 60s to 80s. "Lifetime" now means 10-15yrs.
