2020 Ford Fusion Titanium Review -- Still Worth Buying?
Ford is no longer making the Fusion for 2020 but there are still some buyers who would prefer a sleek looking sedan over an awkward looking crossover. There are some advantages to having a sleek and sporty sedan and not everyone wants a Ford EcoSport. There are some good and bad things about the Fusion that might have you second guessing a potential purchase. With manufacturers leaning more towards larger vehicles and shying away from crossovers, sedans are becoming more and more rare but that doesn't mean that there aren't buyers who would much prefer a more sporty car. Take a look at this Fusion and see if it's still worth considering in 2021.

Wait until you get into the 70-80k range and a word of advice service the transmission every 40k miles or your most likely going to be spending a lot of money to have it replaced before you hit 100k.

I've have a 2014 titanium 2.0 since 64k miles and it now has almost 110k. Has a k & n cold air intake. The transmission isn't butter smooth BUT, its a reliable car. Only had 2 issues. A fuel pressure sensor needed to be replaced and fuel charcoal box was getting flooded due to me probably trying to squeeze more fuel in it at the pump. I'll trade it in for a 2020 soon!

The 2 liter is one of Ford's most reliable engines. The 1.5 liter is the engine to avoid. Change the oil and filter every 3-5,000 miles and flush and fill the transmission each 60,000 miles with top quality fluids and you will have a car that lasts just as long as anything comparable on the road. We have two of them and they are both powerful and trouble-free.

I agree with the servic recommendation, but I traded mine for a 2020 Toyota Camry and I will bet it will last twice as long as the Fusion with much less issues down the road.

@@JasPlun We will have to agree to disagree on this one. Just completed a nice, long road trip in the Fusion, driving in quiet comfort while averaging over 34 MPG. I'll let my friend know how wonderful Toyotas are as she feels the pain of a spun rod bearing at 104,000 miles with her Toyota Sequoia. Her new Expedition is on the way.
@JasPlun
@JasPlun 2 жыл бұрын
Spun Rod Bearing is caused by poor maintenance and considering the milage it was not a factory defect, but nice try. That new Ford will have her back in a Toyota or Honda within 2 years. All of these junk Eco engines being made by domestic companies right now are complete garbage. The 2015 Fusion we had was terrible and not even close to comparing to a Camry. Fordtechmakoloco has a ton of videos on these Eco-Junk engines and he is probably one of the best Ford tech's around. No brand makes a perfect vehicle, but Toyota has the best reputation in the industry. When things go wrong they are also one of the best at correcting the problems. No way I am ever buying another Ford unless its a Pre-80's classic.

@JasPlun
@JasPlun 2 жыл бұрын
@@hircine92h My opinion is this they are a crap shoot you will get an ok car or a bad car. My advice is buy a Toyota or Honda. Yes a little more up front, but you will save a lot more money down the road and have higher re-sale value. Our Fusion wore tires out as well and it is common with them. You have to put a set of new tires every 20k miles. My Toyota has gone 30k and still has decent Tread. You will thank me later on if you buy a Toyota or Honda.

This is just laughable. The hybrid system and transmission was purchased by Ford from Toyota. Same set up that the Prius uses. It has been a proven reliable system going back to the early Prius. I average between 55-60 MPG in the hybrid. Same tried and true tested hybrid system Ford purchased from Toyota. And, most tech features were standard on the base model hybrid SE. BTW, you don't "need" AWD...it is a marketing gimmick. I have never had AWD or 4WD and dealing with New England blizzards over the years can tell you proper all season tires work better than AWD with mediocre tires every day. I have passed many trucks off in the ditch in the winter having spun out. It's not the Sport V6, but the Titanium came standard with the EcoBoost 4 cylinder anyway so what's the point of a gas Titanium? You want a sporty sedan? Get the V6 Sport. You want a loaded Fusion? Get the Hybrid Titanium.

@@r2ba435 Well personally the Fusion was quieter, but the break downs were very expensive so I would rather deal with a rattle oir 2 then to have to caugh up a few grand for repairs. My 2015 Fusion had a cracked cylinder head from the factory that did not manifest itself until 22k miles when it flooded the engine with so much water it would not fire. Left us stranded. Ford Towed it and fixed it then other things began to break. You could no longer connect a phone or use a USB drive the part that handled it broke and was a radio replace to fix. At 50k miles constant misfires that threw codes saying ignition coil so we replaced them still got them and did the injectors and plugs. Still had random misfires that you could feel while driving. I got tired of messing with it. Got a Toyota and have not looked back. I told the dealer it had random misfires. I asked the guy that sold it to me what they found out and he said after they traded for it they found the codes and it was in their Ford dealer they owned getting fixed what ever it was. Some people have luck with Ford. I have owned 5 of their products over the years ALL of them except 1 had problems and issues. The only one I had good luck with was a 1992 Ranger. All of the Toyotas I have owned were rock solid and never gave me problems. Yeah their stereo's always suck and they have a stiffer ride, but the money I save in few repairs and resale are well worth it. My 2020 Camry SE right now is worth more than I paid for it.

@robertgreenhalge1708
@robertgreenhalge1708 10 ай бұрын
I actually did the opposite. I found myself not really using the features that the MKZ had. Sunroof...just made the cabin feel smaller in reality. And something to deal with when it starts to leak eventually. AC seats...felt weird and actually felt more wet than cold. Leather that started ripping on the seats...whereas cloth never did. Also leather is super hot in summer and freezing in winter. Heated seats were fine in winter but with cloth you don't need them. The Fusion hybrid I replaced it with actually had more tech stuff standard along with navigation. Overall, the MKZ was just going to turn into a money pit the longer it aged and when a lot of this stuff began to fail. And don't even get me started on fuel economy...I'm now getting between 55-60 MPG in city driving and yet the engine still feels just as strong as the MKZ's. The only thing I miss? The phenomenal THX sound system which was superb...until the back speakers blew out. At 50% volume level. Doh!

The REAL question is NOT answered by by a single drive, walk around or ANY of the EYE candy involved in any videos I have watched! The REAL question is --- how is the transmission, , how long do the BRAKES last, how about oil leaks and ALL the MOST important ---- PLUMBING that customers don't SEE, and has NO REAL idea of the QUALITY and LONGEVITY of the engine, brakes , transmission, and suspension system! Ford has BEEN a DISASTER -- for YEARS in their sedans division! NO, the WARRANTY is NOT an EXCUSE or FAIR BANDAID for for POOR materials under the hood !! People EXPECT and SHOULD get LONG reliability and NO MAJOR car problems for at LEAST 9-10 years(normal driving) ----- WITHOUT a WARRANTY, with NEEDING a warranty!!! Especially for a car close to $30,000! This is WHY FORD had NO CHOICE to EXIT the SEDAN market, NOT because they WANTED to, NOT because they made so much money off trucks! They LEFT the sedan market---- because they COULD NOT SHAKE their VERY POOR---- deserved---- REPUTATION in the car market!!! It is ashamed, The FUSION (2019 and 2020 versions) Look to be good cars. But the consumer has be RIPPED by FORD SO many times in the past--- with "EYE CANDY" YET ---- NO SUBSTANCE(reliability) under the hood and transmission!!
