How much does it cost to disable the start/ stop permanently? That "feature" in a VW is nothing but trouble.

The best advice is don't own it for a long time. Keep things under warranty for as long as you can. Then sell it if you are dissatisfied.

Just disable it VW gives that option. I detest auto start/stop in any car.

does the 6 speed have hill hold? still debating which i would get the dsg or manual but wanted to know if it had the hill hold feature

Yes the GLI does have the six-speed hill hold. you're talking about when the car automatically breaks for you when it's on top of the hill, right? because if that's the question, yes it does have that.

Do you want to be driving stick shift for another 6 years? Me I kind of regret not getting the automatic. But that's because I'm older. The days of the stick shifter kind of over with me. I'm just over it. Yes it's got a nice amount of power. In my opinion i think nobody should be driving more than 200 horsepower. It's really fast enough. You're just going to have to test drive both vehicles yourself.

Another thing the gas mileage is about 16 to 23 miles per gallon unless if you're driving highway all the time then it's 32 to 35.

Good points I just keep going back n forth for me I had a Jetta glx a while back with a manual n I loved that vr6 then as years went by I didn’t really care but sAn Francisco burned 2 clutches on two diff cars due to hills. Then my current car was an impulse buy n I just couldn’t wait to order one took the car off the showroom it’s a 2008 z4 with an auto that’s why I’m missing the manual now. Kind of wrong trans in the wrong car.

With your right foot on the break you can also let the clutch out just enough to see the RPM’s start to dip and hold the clutch there while you take your foot off the break. Give it a little gas and let the clutch out and take off like normal. It will hold on a hill every time.
