Awkwafina should have been nominated because of her talent not because she is an Asian American and that should never be taken as an eligibility (it's the opposite happening here but still) to nominate anyone. Few of the scenes which she did are very hard, it really seemed raw for that alone she should be nominated.

Most of us younger generations don't know how to speak Chinese and when we decide to learn it, we usually have a hard time pronouncing the words and hitting the right intonations. I learned the language years ago, that's why I'm able relate to the things she said :" I didn't think I could ever speak Chinese", because at first that was what I thought. By the way, which part of my reply that was condescending? I said I'm pretty sure you ain't Chinese. And I'm still not convinced that you're Chinese, since you don't even know that Mandarin is standard Chinese spoken by most of us Chinese people. You said in China people speak Cantonese, lol.
