Spot-on! I just bought the 2020 Si, and I love it. I had the 2011 GTI, and it was great, but this car is fantastic for the price. I really enjoy your reviews.

I actually own a 2017 GTI Sport and a 2019 SI. The SIs chassis is amazing and really shines in the twisties or on the track. GTI Is more on the comfort side even though it’s fun as well in the canyon. The DSG transmission is amazing and the golf r brakes my model comes with is phenomenal. One thing where the civic si absolutely destroys the GTI is in MPG. The SI avgs almost 10mpg more overall.

I have one of these in the dark grey (“Modern Steel Metallic”) color. At 2,700 miles in, I really like it. No buyer’s remorse. I could have swung for something different that would have cost more, but for me, the overall value of the Si is very compelling for all of the reasons this video and the several others like it state. Rev hang isn’t a big deal, and the safety suite hasn’t over-reacted as some other reviewers have experienced. So my advice is that if you’re thinking about this car, go drive it, and see what you think for yourself. My guess is that you’ll be glad you did.

Excellent review. Concise, to the point, and addresses all the questions of someone who wants to know how this car drives. I have a 2020 SI in white, and I actually agree with everything the reviewer says, except that I really don't feel like the interior of the VW is more premium. I prefer the ergonomics of Hondas to Volkswagon. I highly recommend this car both as a daily driver and an enthusiast's ride.

Mac Diddles Rev hang is annoying in states with more traffic. I live in NYC and the rev hang on my WRX causes me to always be moving slower than traffic. Cars will usually be up to my bumper by the time I’ve released the clutch. I used to drive an old Honda Accord with a 5-speed manual and it was smooth as butter as well as a joy in traffic.

I own both cars, same model year 2018. GTI is a better daily driving car, the steering wheel and infotainment system are way better than the si. Si is more engaging to drive when you have summer tires, turning sharp corners at 80 km/h with high rev is just fun as hell. The rev hang in the si is my biggest complaint of the car...

I some times shift gears just for the hell of it. I also have the Hondata tune and although I drive it in that mode sparingly you are right... that extra power combined with the excellent chassis dynamics make the car an absolute blast to drive. I have a 2023 WRX now but my last car was a 2020 Si Coupe. Honda needs to fix the atrocious rev hang in these cars. It ruins the entire experience. Rev hang is honestly what made me decide to get rid of the car. It's a great car that's ruined by the rev hang unfortunately. Please, for the love of God, fix the rev hang in these cars Honda. It is the number 1 reason I would not buy another Si. Easily the worst vehicle I've owned and that's because of the rev hang. I probably would've kept the car if it wasn't for the rev hang.
