Graham, this is just my personal preference, but it may save you some time. On the shift lever, I took mine and moved the lever one tooth up on the front to give me a better hit on the toe shift and keeps the heel part away from my boot. The nice thing about doing this, is when I make a countershaft sprocket change, I don't have to take the black cover that goes on the swing arm off to get the sprocket cover off. Try it and see if it feels good under your boot. If not don't do it, but it does give you room to wiggle the sprocket cover out of there without taking off the swing arms black cover. And thank you very much for the hit on my channel.......

what i do may not please every-one as i am chasing my riding conditions because i live in an area where stock bike is prettyuseless to me. in allhonesty 8 hp is pretty patheyic in a hilly situation but fine around town. i have now turned that around and can run both road and dird and hills asnd cover all areas and consider i have a pretty perfect all-rounder and the fun factor still lives on

I would like to have a ct125. My expectations aren’t as high as yours were when you got it. My Himalayan does what you’re asking the ct to do, and I think you used to have a Himalayan also. Anyway I enjoy the videos. Hope you make it what you’re looking for.
@ridewithwarro4 жыл бұрын
nothing wrong with the himalayan. i had a health issue prior to selling mine. i now like the lighter weight bikes. in fact i found the himalayan a nice soft riding bike apart from the weight side. but the ct125 at 120 kgs is a pretty good overpriced package. whick i am prepared to spend a few $$ on to make it more enjoyable for a bit more fun.

If fitment of the rear shocks is just a bolt-on affair, how they alone affect handling would be interesting. Reports on other bikes would have been that the upgraded rear shocks give some improvement, while the spring/damper upgrade on the forks gives dramatic improvement.

sounds good to me- rear might also help with ride comfort wherethe front end takes cares of the initial hit

With the CT with the high low you can change it with the flick of a switch. Ready to ride street or trail. How long does it take you to change it back? Still wish it had a High/ Low switch.
@ridewithwarro4 жыл бұрын
no need to change back at all. this is the best of both worlds. i think it would give the duel range a run in the rough scrub or at least stay with it and once you got onto dirt track or sealed road -the old duel range would be that far behind you -sorry you'd be waiting ..... i have tested it a couple of times now. it has power from 0-50 mph in any gear and will pull well in all gears. pulls strong uphill in 4th gear too next question-how would it run against a stock geared bike. no conest. it would bowl one over that quick the stock wouldn't know what hit it! in all areas. in town on pickup. on sealed at the first sign of a slight hill and once on dirt party over. the bike is really now a true pitbull. or slightly dangerous...lol

How much has peak top speed dropped?
@daveinwla63604 жыл бұрын
This is important for highway riding, unfortunately. The ideal, of course, would be to have a motorhome to transport the bike to weekend venues. Does any company make an off-road motorhome? :-)

i recorded gps 80 kph yesterday on this gearing and wasn't flat out. i did 102 kph on stock but found the speedo was out by at least 7 to 10 kph i'd say there may be 10 kph or 6 mph difference between the two gearing. once you guys get the bikes and hit 4th gear and the first hill- and experience how gutless it is and a quick drop in power and say 5 to 10 mph-you will see whati mean. around town use its fine. also when you get to 50 mph in stock gearing and twist the throttle nothing happens-its like its in slo-mo on my gearing not the case when i hit the throttle i actually feel the bike move foreward in any gear and that includes top.

What effect does your sprocket changing have on the accuracy of your speedometer? Is it still registering the correct speed under way? Does this affect your Honda warranty? It might over rev your high speed rpms into the red line of your engine??
@ridewithwarro4 жыл бұрын
well its about the same as it is when you buy the bike with the factory speedo and gearing- its roughly 10 kph out. this one is roughly that plus say maybe another 4 kph...lol but i don't use it due to other saying its faulty what about gps. so i now use the gps phone mounted and rarely look at the speedo. you can add anything to a bike to effect warranty-add a sports exaust and burn out a valve and that couls score you a no claim. i suppose this could too. i dont know and in all honesty don't care. i watched a guy in aust flogg the crap out of a money bike for 5000 miles with piggyback ecu upgrade and sports exhaust and other stuff- surely this little beast can handle a sprocket change...lol i do plan to run a rev counter shortly
